Title: Stone Beds?
Post by: Gangsta Spanksta on November 04, 2007, 04:13:00 pm
I know they're awfully uncomfortable, an highly impractical, but they would make sense in an area with no wood. At least, there should be some way to make your dwarves sleep in a certain location in low wooded areas.

build a stone armour rack and create a room from it this will make a barracks where dwarves with no room will sleep if they cant get a free bed. although i do agree we need alternat material beds, i would suggest metal beds to make them a bit more difficult than just stone

Mattresses.
With some processed crops (hay!) and some cloth, you should be able to make those- they would make for beds that are even more comfortable.

People have been suggesting alternate types of bed for a long time, it'll probably be added eventually but it's probably not high on Toady's priority list right now. My personal favorite is the idea of a hammock made of cloth or ropes.

Bloat40, BETTER BEDS, (Future): Can extend the list of available materials, add blankets, pillows, etc.
So it would appear that there are plans to alleviate the wood pressure... eventually. :p
