Title: A few adventure mode suggestions
Post by: MaxVance on April 17, 2008, 04:23:00 pm
-Adventurers should be able to gather plants and eat them. Currently they can only burn them.
-Adventurers shouldn't have X-ray vision with containers. A container's contents should only be visible if the adventurer is next to or on top of a container.
-Adventurers with picks should be allowed to dig out areas, as well as make staircases and ramps. Being able to dig stairs should also allow the adventurer to travel across mountains (though somewhat slowly, as he would have to dig stairs into each cliff on his way).

These are all pretty much common requests that are gonna happen with the adventurer skills arc, which is in the dev notes.

I think the container one is a unique idea.  Rather than being able to see the contents from a distance with loo(k), you would have to (I)nteract with them.

Ah, true.    Adventure mode will be fleshed out and overhauled a great deal, I feel, so details like that will be fixed up proper.

I could see it now... the totally generic and suspenseful Zelda cue music. WTF? 5 rupees? I was expecting an adamantine longsword.

New suggestion: If playing as a race with natural projectile attacks (fireballs and the giant cave spider's webbing, for example), pressing the fire button should allow you to fire said projectile.

I came up with this after making the GCS playable and playing as one. The biting/venom attacks still work but there is no way to shoot webbing.
