Title: ... High blood pressure?
Post by: Gunner-Chan on March 05, 2009, 10:07:14 pm
I am well... Confused... And a bit worried.

The other day someone told me I had a red spot in my eye, I didn't think much about it but I decided to look in a mirror anyway.

It was blood, a capillary or something burst in my eye... That could of meant a few things, so I checked my blood pressure and it was at high pre-hypertension levels.

This feels weird, i'm only 22 and I could have a blood pressure problem developing... I'm going to a doctor about it soon but it still seems strange. Is this something I should be worried about? Or could it of just been a fluke or something?

Definitely worth checking out with a doctor. If only to ease your mind, and thusly reduce your stress/blood-pressure.

Wait, wrong thread. Shouldn't that go in the postcount++ thread?

No, that was a post about complimenting SHB's post. The end part, where he mentioned high blood pressure, was really what tied it all together.

Anyway, you should eat less salt.

Oh, in that case never mind.

And I already avoid salt.

Bloodletting is known to reduce blood pressure. So eh... Go emo?

actually, bloodletting would do nothing. blood pressure is a muscle thing.

a doctor is a good idea, though.

That would be odd. In bullfighting, they poke holes in the bull so he bleeds to reduce blood pressure. Otherwise he'd get a heart attack from the rage.

Honestly I doubt it. It just ends up pussifying the bull. What a load of bullshit.

I'd suggest just relaxing your muscles. That could help.

Well, actually, Yanlin is right.
The pressures will burst out from the holes.

Like a bottle of water. If you carve a hole in the 'down' side of it, the waters will burst out.
So do blood. They're both liquid.
But yeah, that means that with the same diameter of wound, high pressured blood will come out at a more alarming rate than normal pressured blood.
Be wary when you're wounded.

Bulls can have heart attacks because they're SO ANGRY?

I never knew.

well gee, I... um
hmm. okay, I was petty sure chronic blood pressure comes back wether you lose some or not. but I have been proven wrong.

still see a doctor though.

High blood pressure can be very dangerous after a period. You better visit the doctor as soon as possible.
Just a question: Are you fat?

I bet I'm fatter than him. Blood pressure runs in the family.

But I don't have high blood pressure...

After going to the doctor there doesn't seem to be any problems... In fact he said I was remarkably healthy considering some of my habits.

I guess the test was a fluke.

I have an insanely low blood pressure, yet somehow, I am yet to experience chilling health problems someone described to me as "Waking up in a puddle of your own blood".

Oh you don't need low or high blood pressure for that. It happened to me once and all that happened was that I forgot to put my knives away.

I tried to donate blood once.

It took me more than 40 minutes.

At least I won't bleed to death really fast if I ever get attacked by a mysterious masked man with a knife.

Pretty much what happens when they're taking my blood for analysis.

Yeah, you'll be just fine if he chooses to attack you with a IV and cookies.

My blood is pH 0.2, I'm not allowed to do blood tests or donating of it.

My blood is type AB. Basically means I wont die from lack of blood transfusions in hospitals.

That's right. My blood is compatible with every other type of blood out there. Oh yeah.

I have no idea what this means. Does it mean we could fill a pool with your blood and it wouldn't get green and icky?

He's joking. It would mean that his blood was more acidic than stomach acid.

Nah, PH 0.2 ....

I thought it is bases? PH 7.0 is neutral

Higher is basic, lower is acidic. Yeah, 7 pH is neutral, though.

What about RhD? AB+ or AB- ? If negative, the amount of blood that can be given to you drops in half. If positive, you're compatible with every single blood cell and I congratulate you for having donation-wise the most useless blood type.

As a sidenote, if it's negative, you have the rarest blood type in our world.

I THINK it's positive. But it could be negative. That's why I didn't specify.
