Yup, you heard it, only a few months since release and its now free to play. Go check it out, I've yet to play but i've heard interesting things about it I must say.

Nice plan on EA's behalf, since Battleforge is a game with microtransactions at it's very core - add-on card packs. Offer the basics for free and you're set to addict many a sucker

Agreed, the only thing that sucks is that I bought it for 40 euros about 2 weeks ago :-\

Meh, it was alright. I played the beta and even up to the day before it's release is seemed unfinished, like the rts part was only an afterthought.

I'l try it, seems to be only a 100 megs so only like an hour long DL.
Edit:
BattleForge became a Play 4 Free branded game with only 32 of the 200 cards available. In order to get additional cards, players will now need to buy points on the BattleForge website
Doesn't look promising.

If you're tricking you can sell of the cards you get at the beginning or for free to get points without paying. I got about 3 packs for free that way.

I got out of the Card game buisness when the fact that they cost hundreds of dollars and are ultimately not worth it.

Do they have a defence in place against somebody downloading it 25 times on different accounts and then giving all their cards to the main one? If no, i might try it out because i am NOT going to pay for the CHANCE of getting new content.

So you end up downloading more than 50 Gb of data for those cards, that amount to some cash around here ;D

Finally finished downloading, its kinda boring. It feels a lot like DOW2, being built around more action less strategy.

DoW is so much better than this. I quit before I had finished the tutorial. It's boring.

yeah, i only liked this because its free. Its fairly shite tbh. uninstalled!

I really don't earn enough money to collect card games.
With exception to those few games where they give you ALL The cards. (For example I don't collect Yu-Gi-Oh cards but I love the games)
