Title: Suikoden: Tierkreis
Post by: Ioric Kittencuddler on May 30, 2009, 02:45:02 pm
So this game just came out for nintendo DS.  Got me wondering if there are any Suikoden fans here, specifically those that have Tierkreis.

Suikeoden fan here! but I am not a Tierkreis fan.

Last Suikeoden I bought was 3 and I wish I bought 5.

Five was good, first one I really got into, though I played 2 for a little bit a long time ago.  Why don't you like Tierkreis?

It seperates too much from the whole reason I like the series. Plus from what I remember it looks ugly.

It was kinda iffy once I heard you don't get 6 people parties.

You mean because it takes place in a different world?  If by "looks ugly" you mean it's on nintendo DS then yes, I agree.  It is on nintendo DS.

Yeah, that's one downside to it.  It's got only four combatants and one support character per party.

Oh no neither of those. I was slightly annoyed by how many people seem to make it into the other Suikeodens as it was.

By Ugly I don't mean technical graphics so being on the DS means nothing.

You didn't like the art style then?

And just what is it that was so separate from what you like about other Suikoden games?  I still don't get it. ???  I mean, you haven't played it right?

4 characters and art style that was pretty much it. I don't earn enough money to get anything but must haves.

Didn't help that I couldn't rent it because it was a DS game

Oh well, since it's a DS game it's only thiry bucks now, and will be cheaper later, so you really ought to get it when you can.  it's quite good despite some flaws.  It really is Suikoden on DS.

About the art syle, do you just not like Anime style graphics or something?  It doesn't really seem that different from 3.

Hm, I don't really see that...  Oh well, get it when it's cheaper.  It's good!  And I don't have anyone to play the Infinity quests with.

Well I am going to Futureshop to buy The Sims 3 on Tuesday. If this is there at a good price Ill pick it up. Though Futureshop is horrible at marking down games (EBgames is better)

Sims 3 is a must have?!  Well... whatever suits your tastes...  I suppose I could have some fun with it too.  I just wouldn't buy it due to the whole buy most of the content separately thing. :P

Kind of unrelated since I don't plan on touching it for the most part.

Now if the game is horrible and could have used the content. That is another story. (Almost like Beautiful Katamari... except that content was already on the disk...)

Anyhow Loved The Sims and The Sims 2, have a family member who wants it... Waiting for for around 3 years perhaps. Must buy.

Should another Magic Pengel / Graffiti Kingdom come out, it is another Must buy! (Too bad that won't happen... ever)

You know, I've been looking at it all quite allot just because of what you said, and I honestly can't see how you could think Suikoden: Tierkreis looks anything like Legend of Mana... :P

So I'm still stumped, but maybe you mean something different than what I think you do... so oh well, whatever...

Maybe it is because I am so affectionate about Legend of Mana (Too bad a buy worthy one hasn't come out to any next gen console)

Also it is probably because Legend of Mana is Chibi with oddly sized weapons (Though the colors seem a bit more vibrant). The same as the actual gameplay clips of this game.

Ok, yeah, the 3D models are SD, but that's just the 3D models.  The art style for the characters is allot closer to Suikoden 3... Which arg!  I have to get now!!  Arg!  I just saw the intro on Youtube and it's so cool!  That and I go the manga from the library.

After the disc fail, I went through and beat Suikoden 1 (all 108 yay!) on an emulator.

And then I got S2 emulated!

AND THE IMAGE DIDN'T WORK EITHER, it crashed when I went over the first mountain pass >:O

Everyone I know locally has always told me that S2 was the best of the series.

That's what I've heard as well.  Then it seems kind of mixed between one, three, and five.  Maybe you had a bad ROM or whatever.
