In addition, I'd love it if Toady used the same idea he does with damp tiles: Give a warning and require the player to deliberately re-designate the grid.
Of course, letting the player *move the masterwork someplace else* would be wonderful...

In other words, "deconstructing" that wall would yield masterwork blocks with that engraving, that can later be reassembled. Masons/engravers (the most common kind of stoneworker, methinks) could use their engraving skill when making a masterwork set of blocks, resulting in an image being engraved on the blocks, that will then transfer to the wall that is built with the blocks.
I don't want to go into details here, but let's presume the "set of masterwork blocks" implies a set of really good blocks, and a large stone panel with an engraving that is cemented onto the blocks.
