Title: Animal caretakers should treat any tame animal, not just
Post by: MaxVance on April 27, 2008, 07:39:00 pm
One of my fort's dogs got injured in a goblin siege about a year ago. The dog had a broken leg and a mangled paw and has been limping around ever since. Sadly, his owner is one of my spearmasters, and I can't turn on animal caretaking for her.

Is there any particular reason why animal caretakers don't treat non-pets, anyway?

Animal Caretakers dont do anything anyways, they just look at an animal they come by for about three frames, get 10 experience for it, and go off to do whatever they were doing in the first place.

Couple a dog with a mangled neck or something, and dwarves that are always idle with Caretaking on, and you've got Legendary Caretakers everywhere.

So, the suggestion is to make animal caretaking do something? That sounds great. Hey, while we're at it, how about giving dissection skills uses too?

Dissection has uses. But it's only used to extract liquids from animal life.

Like liquid fire or snake poison.

Which at the current time is just a very valuable trade commodity.
