Title: "Cave Crocodile has given birth..." Message w/o Underground River/Pool Discovery

Just as the title says, I got a "cave crocodile has given birth to cave crocodile hatchlings" announcement without discovery of my underground pool or my underground river.  I know I have both on the map, but neither has been discovered as of yet.  None are visible on the animal list, and I didn't use reveal at any point.  My game version is 40d11; I couldn't say in the title because it was already the max amount of characters.

Note: I haven't checked the bug list yet, but I've checked it multiple times in the past and didn't remember seeing anything like this.

Search for "crocodile birth" came up with this previous report. (http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=9477.msg95278#msg95278)  But yeah, it doesn't seem to be in the bug list.
