Post by: Keita on September 30, 2009, 03:03:46 am
[hello all! Got idea from manifold1 to do this so thanks dude!]

You look around you, the world is just a swirl of colours and your body an explosion of pain.

You can't remember a thing, what were you again?

[I know all the Adeptus'es from being such a 40K geek =P]

'Space Marine', these two words float around your mind and you remember your induction ritual into the Black Templars chapter.

Your head is still swimming, you must of taken a seriouse blow for that to happen, being an augumented super human and all...

another two words flowt into focus in your mind from beyond the barrier on pain, 'What now'?

Look around.

Look at self.

You force you eyes to focus on your surrounding, you see a red waste land before you, scattered with crevases and pot holes. The air is breathable as you realise your helmet is off and about a foot to your right accompanied with a chain sword. In the distance you can see what looks like a group of low sheds made of corregated iron.

Looking to your left and there is more decelite landscape and smog, lots of smog. the first thing you see is a bolt pistol, further away is a crashed thunder bolt lander craft.

You look down at yourself. You are spraled out on your back, in a half sitting position on account of something on your back. Your armour is pitted with many dents and scratches but none have managed to penatrate the think armour.

Pick up weapons and helmet, try to find another space marine. Else, shoot anything that moves. The xenos must be killed!

Does the helmet have a vox radio or something?
Title: Re: Generic fourm 40K roleplay game go!

You get up off your back, the something still clinging to you.

Walking over to your helmet you pick it up and examine it. One of the lenses has shattered and the right sensor pack has completly crumpeled in on it's self. Slotting it over your head you hear it clamp onto the coller of your armour. A warning light flashes in the good eye warning that your suit isn't vacum proof.

You try the vox several times but all you hear is white noise. Taking it off you clip it to your belt as the shattered lens would impear you sight.

You collect both of your weapons. The chain sword is functional but the pistol clip is empty ["I don't keep it loaded son, you'll have to find ammo as you go along" - Captn. Keys]. You decide that contacting your squade would be the best course of action.

You start to head towards the landing craft.

Examine thing on back.

Continue to landing craft, with chainsword ready.

Once at the landing craft, search immediate area for ammo and signs of combat. Anything that moves, tear it to bits. ^_^

You stop a decide that the object on your back is getting annoying. Looking round you see part of a jump pack. Deciding to get a better look at it you unfasten it and examine it. By the looks of it, the jump back took most of the impact when you hit the ground. It has been squased into a crumpeld mess.

After discarding the wreck you continue onto the craft, chain sword raised. Bodys of other mariens are scattered about, deffinatly dead for a variaty of reasons.

You enter the crashed lander and look to the poilt serf in the cockpit. As you enter you see two serfs, one has been launched onto the control panel with his brains scattered around him, the other with his head at an unusual angle.

Going into the crew compartment you see five imperial guard and some more of your bretheren. You search your brothers and find five bolt pistol clips. Walking outside again you look at a distant sun behind thick smog.

Try to determine what killed the marines and imperial guard. Check if lander's radio equipment fuctions. If so, try to contact squad and/or ship in orbit. If it doesnt work, walk in a random direction in hopes of finding something.

If possible find a working jump pack and claim it.

You look at the marines around you outside the lander. They all have taken a seriouse amount of damage caused by blunt force, you assume that it's from impact with the ground. Inside, the guard look like Karskin troopers and have died from a sudden deaccelaration when flying at high speed i.e. hitting the bulkhead with immense force.

Looking over the other marines, they do not appear to be harmed in such the same manner...

[what damage have they taken?]

Something killed a group of space marines, and didn't leave a trace, apart from the dead marines? Sounds like toasters.

Post by: Kashyyk on September 30, 2009, 01:39:53 pm
Also sounds like they were thrown out of the falling lander while it is still in the air. The Guardsmen? probably got thrown forward by the impact, or something else. What could throw Marines around like rag dolls? I'm thinking a Daemon of some sort.

Actually, I find it interesting that we were outside of the ship, with a jump-pack on.

Are the other marines wearing their jump-packs?

Edit: Nevermind, I just noticed that we're all outside. This is odd.  ??? I thought maybe we had bailed on our Brothers, but that's heresy.

As to why the ship crashed in the first place, it might not be a bad idea to look for damage to the thunderhawk unrelated to the crash. I doubt we'll learn a whole lot, but you never know.

Finally, what is the greatest duty of a Space Marine?
To ensure the survival of his chapter. Each of those dead Brothers carries the potential to create two more warriors, in the form of his progenoid glands. If we have any apothecary training (and one of them happens to be an apothecary, and have the equipment needed) we should try to harvest the glands. If none of the above is true, we should consider leaving some kind of a beacon or marker. We don't want the Gene-Seed lost or wasted.

This is an awesome idea, I wish I'd thought of it first.  ;D

Back again!

we are in a Thunder Bolt landing craft.

Then go outside! What are we? Retard Space Marine of the Millenia?

That can be arranged. Also I said what the terrain was like already.

As you look at your dead comrads you see deep gorges in there armour, some running from shoulder to legs. Looking at the craft itself you see gapinng holes in the armour plates that look like acid burns.

You decided that who ever took down the craft then came to investigate and killed the surviours, mistaking you for a casulty. You step outside and decide to move on. Your options are:

A small gorge with steady slopes on either side leading off to the south and north.

A gathering of 3 small buildings to the west.

And an immense expanse of waste land to the east.

You decide that Walking aimlessly in this desolet red wasteland would be pointless and you trudge towards the west to a set of 3 low buildings.

As you close you notice that they're made of corredated iron, the rust staining it orange with corrosion.

You hold your chainsword in a double grip and kick the door of the first one down. Tools and scrap metal litter the small clutered space. You move to the next and procced to enter in the same fashion.

This shed contains banks of cognators and other various machinary. You spot a shadow in the corner but to late as it pounces forwards, a glint of metal is your first sign of a weapon.

Reving the chainsword you parry the blow, reach forward and grab hold of a bundel of cloth and drag it to face level.

In your hand you clutch a tech-priest.

You Hold the tech-priest at arms length, listening to his rantings about the Omnissiah waiting intill he realized to who he was threatening.

It only takes a while intill he looks at you, you think it's a he as the tech-priest has had extensive augmentaion and not much human can be seen. A small sread on the left cheek, forehead and neck.

"A Templar, thank the Omnissiah! I thought I was to be the only one out this fr away from Omega Complex"

[What do you say?]

You put the Tech-priest down and let go. He dusts his rust colured clock down and apologises for trying to attack you.

You consider asking him to repair the lander but you remember that the engines were practicaly ripped out of there casing. Also you remember that you were brought here on a mission.

[Omega complex?]

You ask the tech-preist if he knows anything about your battle brothers.

"I have not seen another Marine but I have heard from vox chatter that there are squads to the north at manufactorium Sansridge."

You turn from the Tech-priest and exit the hut. You look to the north and see the gorge leading north to south. To start to walk by it for about an hour before you see the top of Manufactorium Sansridge

As you near Manufactorium Sansridge you wearily draw your weapons, scanning the horizon with your bolt pistol.

You crest a hill and get you first view of the Manufactorium. It is covered in the rust red coloure of the Mechanicus and the cogged tooth skull symbol is on every surface. The thick clouds from the pollution that rises from the factories makes a thick blanket, the under side of which has giant bots and dashes of machine code, praising the Omnissiah and work routers.

You pass through a rocky outcrop, the rocks blasted smoth by many years of sandstorm kicking up the sharp sand under foot. A rock hits one of the stones to your left, spinning round you birng up your bolt pistol and hold your chainsword in a guard position.

About 10 meters away, a Black Templars scout waves at you and motions you to follow him before turning away, his cameleine cloack slwirling behind him, breacking up his image as he treks across the wastes.

Lowering your weapons, you follow the scout. After 10 minuets of walking your lead to a cave, the entrance of which over hangs which makes it hard to pick out from the smooth, random landscape surriunding it.

As you enter the scout turns on his heels, a sniper rifle held across his chest with his left hand and salutes with his right.

"It is good to see you sir, I am scout sergent Garnef."
