Title: Game of Voices
Post by: SHAD0Wdump on November 22, 2009, 03:40:26 am
This game is somewhat of a social experiment, there are some environmental rules, and likely by the nature of this game I'll have to invent some on the fly, but most will be in the 'background', the following is mostly all you need to know for now...

Basis:Four players are placed into a 9x9 square playfield, these players may make any action suggested by any non-player so long as it is one of the first 5 suggestions for that turn addressed to him/her.
ANYONE not playing may give a move suggestion to a player.
They MUST take one of these suggested actions.

Blocks:In the arena are blocks, blocks are denoted by a number, the number being how high they are stacked.

The block dispenser:Located in the center, Mainly dispenses blocks, but may dispense other things...

Players:When signing up,choose a color.(red, blue, yellow, green)
-Sean Mirrsen in red
-Nirur Torir in green
-Exkirby in yellow
-Toonyman in blue

The map:

Also, I'll have you people know that while making the ad-hoc graphics for this game, Paint crashed when using the line tool.

EDIT: Forgot to make the dispenser's graphic, just imagine the thing is in the center square for now.

Question: Will we have to fight over the first five suggestions, or will we each get our own pool of five suggestions?
Title: Re: Game of Voices

Individual pools, hence the "addressed to him/her".

Green diplomacy and sanity for the win!

Red and blue seem to have a natural enmity. Perhaps our color-brothers yellow and blue can be reasoned with. But Red may be too violent.

Yes, this is one of the voices talking with the other voices such that Green cannot hear.

You stand there and observe, it seems that red guy over there was making some threatening motions at you before doing something with some blocks, the yellow guy seems to be doing a block thing as well, and the green guy appears to be... meditating?
Who are these people? Where the hell are you anyway? Why is there a purple box with a button on top?

You take two of the outlaying blocks and make a small walled in area, you have a distinct feeling you'll be needing more blocks...

You do so.

Title: Re: Game of Voices
Post by: SHAD0Wdump on November 30, 2009, 08:46:19 am
It's not so much the players (although emp_john hasn't been too attentive) but the deficit of actions flowing in from random forum-goers, without that it becomes less than interesting.

Although I suppose I can make due with deadlines and if a person misses their turn too many times anyone may take control unless he/she returns before they take claim.

The problem is we didn't see the OP post a list of actions that the players officially took. It doesn't make much sense to have all of us blasting the thread with surplus commands when the players all obviously chose already for this turn.

It would also help to have a periodic update of all the suggested posts for this turn. That way we can have the lesser voted-for players have more suggestions.

Alright, from this point on I will provide a set deadline for commands to be chosen(likely three days), I will also provide a command list on the second day.
I would like to discourage choosing your commands before there are at least three, but do what you will.

Spoiler: map (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: actions (click to show/hide)

You go and tear out the north left collection of blocks from red's mini-fort, meanie...

Run around and around in circles, run around and around in circles! You run around so much a really poorly drawn contour of your path is made visible.

You go to pick up a block as a shield but find it particularly unwieldy, you also try to find another, smaller block to use as a sword, but using a block as a sword is particularly silly... Besides, the blocks are the same size anyway.

Dribble dribble, You have one turn before neural surgery is performed and your brain is replaced and flushed down the toilet.

Next Deadline is Friday the 4th, at 1:00 PM GMT -5.

You pick up red and plop him down on the block dispenser...

*Click* , a block appears on one of the two high stacks.

You place a block next to his apparent new throne while groveling.

You stack blocks and stand high above the other individuals huddling around the block dispenser. You determine there is a ceiling exactly 6 blocks above the ground.

Having been picked up and placed on the purple device of wonders, you decide to see how blue likes it!
He seems rather comfortable up there, and he most likely doesn't have a button digging into his ass like you do.

Next deadline is Monday 7th at 1PM -5:00 GMT.

Take the three blocks along the north wall and stack them into a 3-stack on empty C5. That may be as much as you can do in one turn - if you can manage it, grab the block in C6 and put it up on C5 to make a 4-stack. Examine ceiling and walls and floor. Any exits? Anything unusual?

Extract the button from your butt and jump up and down on the dispenser button exactly 11 times.

Concentrate and try to make a scratch-made pumpkin pie appear out of thin air using your psychic powers.

I made a pumpkin pie from actual pumpkin last week.

Not that much work, but more work than using canned puree. And it was only a tiny bit better than pie from a can. But it came out perfectly and I'm still getting over the fact that it's all gone.

Two pies from an 8" pumpkin!

And the roasted seeds ...

Although those are too much work to eat for my taste.

---------------BLU---------------
Do Nothing

Press the button with red's face

---------------GRN---------------
Take the three blocks along the north wall and stack them into a 3-stack on empty C5. That may be as much as you can do in one turn - if you can manage it, grab the block in C6 and put it up on C5 to make a 4-stack. Examine ceiling and walls and floor. Any exits? Anything unusual?

Do Nothing

ask blue why he's being so mean to red

---------------YLW---------------
Concentrate and try to make a scratch-made pumpkin pie appear out of thin air using your psychic powers.

Do Nothing

hit blue over the head with a block for hurting your friend red

Why oh why can we not end the ceaseless warfare between those who are Red and those who are Blue?

Spoiler: map (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: actions (click to show/hide)

You toss a block at blue, which appears to crush him and elevate the stack he was on to 3 high.
 You murderer!

A circular hole in the ceiling opens and deposits another blue guy.

You say some words and stuff and a diplomatic truce is formed or something.

You go to get the three blocks on the north wall, but there is only so much work you can do with these heavy things, and only manage to stack two and drag the last one half way.

Whodawha? Where are you? Who are these guys? Why do you feel like you want to do malevolent things to that red guy over there?

Next turn deadline Thursday at 1 PM GMT -5:00.

Finish getting C5 stack up to a height of 4.

Melt out from between the cracks as a metallic blue liquid, reforming into your previous shape. Except you have scythes for arms!

(Alternately, uh, just lie there because you're totally dead)

Jump on the button 20 times

Scream at the heavens (ceiling?) and pound on your chest, making the Tarzan AAAA-OOA-OOA-OOA sound.

Hehe. Let me at it, I'm russian! Ex-soviet! I like everything RED!

Oh, and I'll go with continuous aggression towards blue, so far. That is, use any of Blue's bodyparts, up to and including the head, to press the center button exactly 20 times. By our colors combined, the purple button shall be pushed!

Yes, that was the thought. Though we do lack a team member. Fire, Earth, Water, Heart. Where's wind? Ah, I know. Let's pile up together and pass wind. By our smells combined...

Rip out red's heart (or other vital organ) and eat it.

Stand on the dispenser.

Keep stacking blocks until you reach the ceiling (assuming there is one).

Pretend you're bomberman. Drop a bomb.

Yes.

I'm going to give everyone a chance to change their action, plus I'm too lazy to update.
