Title: Alternate world / Alternate world war 2
Post by: carriontrooper on December 30, 2009, 03:16:14 am
Allright, so this here's a project that I made some time ago. In short, it's set in an alternate world (think different landmasses and countries) which is currently in their third Great War. This third war is fought roughly in the same era as our WW2, anyways. I even made a wiki for it, to store the ideas I got. It's not done yet, however...
http://trooperworld.wikidot.com/ <- there's the wiki, check it out, whatever.
This is supposed to be a kind of community thing, but right now it lacks the community. Just check it out, maybe input something etc. in this thread maybe?

It looks pretty interesting, but differently in need of work. I'd be willing to help

However, I'm just starting work on a site of my own (of which, few further details be annouced until I get it to the operational phase). I've decided to try for 1 hour of writing/coding work per day. I can offer one work day every other week to help.

Wait, which part of registration? The wikidot itself or the one to my site?

Wikidot itself.

Your TT-43 (http://carriontrooper.deviantart.com/art/Zaryan-TT-43-Tank-86554641) tank looks a bit too advanced for WWII and a bit too overdesigned for a large scale conflict (the bigger the conflict, the shorter the design process of the latest weapons.)

Hmmm. It's not a new, rushed design per se, but one that was modified from an earlier chassis. The chassis and turret were developed and evolved from early/pre-war design, but the gun was fitted as of late. How's that sound?

@Little: Well, I'm not sure what is wrong, try registering again.

Well pre-war designs were even less over designed.  Before WWII, there hadn't been a major tank on tank war to prompt major tank construction, so tanks tended to look like piles of random junk welded together.

Hmmm. Its basis is T-34 and Sherman, mixed together and with a bit of artistic licence over here and there.

I did get a strong Sherman vibe from that high profile.  But TT-43 has too many sharp angles to look like a sherman or t-34.  Especially the angular turret shape.

Well, I found out that wikidot hates hotmail, and will react weirdly if you try to register into wikidot using a hotmail account. That's probably what little's problem is.

Has any thought been put into a world map?
