Title: Coders needed
Post by: moghopper on February 08, 2010, 04:52:18 pm
I've got an idea for a game, but i'm utterly incompetent when it comes to coding. Is there anyone looking for a project to work on?

What I'm proposing is a turn based, space strategy game, using large fleets and location damage. shall i elaborate?

feel free to elaborate. It might get someones attention. Unfortunately, I am too busy for even my own projects to even think of lending a hand.

Well, this is the place to elaborate on anything you want, especially if you hope to get someone's attention.  But if you didn't see this thread about game ideas (http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=42667.0), you should give it a read and think about what you're asking.  Basically, you're looking for someone to do the hard work of making a game for you.  Unless you plan to make it worth their time, you probably won't get a bite, especially for something as huge as a strategy game.  Anybody who could do all the programming for you almost certainly has their own game ideas to make.

This bight sound discouraging, but the answer is NO.
There is no such thing as a programmer that want to make a game but don't have any idea for one. Ideas are a plenty and people with the skills to make them come real are much rarer, and everyone would rather work on their own pet project than yours.
Your best bet is to learn to program yourself.
