Also, some codes are just unfair. For example, if I were to make a Viginere-d text that was a short sentence - maybe 20 letters long - and my cipher key was 4 letters long, it'd be nigh impossible to find the key through frequency analysis, since the text was so short. Even if you knew I was using a Viginere cipher, you wouldn't be able to crack it.
Therefore, I propose that we use some conventions to make codebreaking easier. For example, Cthulu, I'm fairly sure that your second code
is a modified Caesar cipher, moving forward some when numbers are in bold and moving back some when they are not.
However, even if I am correct, it doesn't seem to work with
, so I cannot figure it out easily. Could you then just tell me if I'm correct?
