Title: How much driving skill does it take to outdrive an Agent?
Post by: jasonred79 on March 12, 2010, 12:30:15 pm
I ask because I often find myself being chased by completely unshakeable agents in their uber black sports cars. Despite having 4-5 driving and a Sports Car, I can never shake them off.
How much driving skill do you need to outrun them in a sports? ... how about in the other cars?

I have never had problems outdriving agents with high juice guys used to driving away, since Intelligence HQ is generally off limits to new guys anyway. The agents do have good driving skill (about 8 I think) and faster cars than those available to LCS, so it's not a fair game... but they're supposed to be tough!

i kinda wished that the agents had mini missiles and gun turrets on their cars

I got into an infinite driving sequence with an agent. We both ran out of bullets and I was too good to wipe out, so we just drove...and drove...and drove.

After minutes holding down the 'D' key, then 'F' key, then 'D' key again, I finally got bored and ditched my car. I quickly outran the agent on foot :D

The highest driving skill I've ever had on a Liberal is 6 (with 1000 Juice), and she definitely never escaped from Agents. Not in a taxi cab. Not in a police cruiser. Not in a sports car. I'm interested to know, Kay12, what the driving stats (if you can remember them) were of your high juice folks. I either end up murdering the pursuing Agents or bailing from the vehicle and outrunning them.

Or, y'know, dying in a RNG-induced crash.

Yeah, same here. I don't know how you train up driving so high... OH, wait... the only way I can think of is to go up against the police, and get into infinite driving loops. (getting into perpetual agent chases usually leads to deaths)
So, if agents have 8 driving, and their black sports cars are faster than normal sports cars... do you need like 12 driving to outrun them or something?

I think just having your liberal assigned a car slowly trains their driving.

I'm not sure since it was quite some time ago, I only know that most of the time I was able to shake them agents I was a violence squad (since other squads won't be stupid enough to be chased out of that building). Possibly it trained so well during my target practice procedure: Go to Cable/AM, raid the studio, kill lots of people, wait for the conservative masses to come, PWN them until ammunition is running low, leave to be chased by hillbillies in pickups, outrun them with a single keypress. I use this to train "filler liberals" to replace my martyrs.

EDIT: Just managed to outdrive two cars of agents with 9 driving, with a single keystroke.

Ability to outrun Agent, I believe, is also based on Agility.  Thus, uber combat squads can occasionally outrun the Agents with average driving due to high agility (I'll assume your combat squad is recruited with a flair for decent-to-high agility, and get juiced up to near maximum agility).
