I went to the police station trying to recruit dethsquad and police people when a dethsquad said got anything to smoke on you and is letting me recruit him.

Yup, when your persuasion and Charisma are superhigh, you can convince anyone to join the Liberal Cause. If you want recruitment in general to be much, much harder, try out the alpha of the new version. You can't even recruit Hippies until Persuasion 2!

He has 19 and everyone said no except the random dethsquad. God i just got shot in the head and lost 29 teeth and proceded to blow off both legs, arms, and his head before he died. He was a college student.

I always thought that "Conservatives" were basically immune to recruitment through "talking about the issues", and that the only way to get certain individuals to join the LCS was by Seduction (i.e. dating) or Psychology (i.e. kidnapping)?

I used to think that until forumgoers started mentioning they were recruiting Agents by talking about the issues. I was skeptical until I found my 13 Charisma and 8 persuasion Liberal Founder sucessfully talking to a Police Officer about the issues.

You can recruit a lot of people with 20 persuasion.

I used to think that too until I was training persuasion one day on conservatives and one acctually listened.

I think no one is completely immune to persuasion, and actually low-end consumer class conservatives (office workers, janitors, lab techs...) are quite easy to recruit with persuasion >15. Provided you want them at that point.

You don't even need THAT much. At least in the new alpha I was getting conservatives to talk to me at 8 persuasion. 20 charisma though helps ;)
