Title: Beginner's Mafia XV - Day 4!
Post by: JoshuaFH on August 25, 2010, 07:24:21 pm
Looks like I'm gonna be running this one, I'll just copy and paste the rules from BM 14, with me changing the obvious 'this is the fourteenth' bit.

Welcome to Beginner's Mafia! This is the fifteenth run of our Beginner's Mafia series. In Beginner's Mafia, you will be pitted up with a Town IC (Inexperienced Challenged) who will help you play the game, and will be just as clueless, if not more so, about the setup as you, and a Mafia IC, who will be helping out the Mafia.

In Mafia, you are divided into two parts: Town and Mafia:
If you are Town, your goal is to lynch the Mafia. You do this by convincing others that one of the group is scum, and getting enough votes on them to lynch them.
If you are Mafia, your goal is to kill off the Town until there is an equal number of them to you by getting them to lynch other Town or by killing them. You are given a kill each Night to kill any player in the game.

Each Day, you all vote to lynch a player. Each Night, you send in your actions. The cycle continues until one side wins. Days are 72 hours and nights are 48. Weekends count for zero hours.

You may not PM other players. The mafia will have a place to talk to themselves.

In this setup, there are the possibility of extra roles. These roles are Cop and Doctor for Town, and Roleblocker and Godfather for Mafia.
A Cop inspects any player at Night. They are told that player's alignment.
A Doctor may protect any player at Night. This stops that player from being killed.
A Roleblocker stops an extra role from using an action. This stops Doctors and Cops but does nothing for Townies.
A Godfather makes Cops get Town for their alignment, instead of Mafia.

There is a 50% chance for any of these roles to show up. It is possible to end up with no extra roles.

Oh yeah, and things like editing your posts, revealing your PM's, or talking after you've been lynched are not allowed. This is a mafia staple rule that is often taken for granted, but don't forget it!

For a link to our Tutorial here at B12: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=39338.0

If you're still confused, join anyhow and we'll teach you!

And if you have any other questions, just ask.

This game will have 9 players. If more ICs wish to join, it would be helpful, since one IC is usually never enough.

dragnar Townie
Ein

Also, Aqizzar, you're six, I think.

Actually, it's still 10 players. You guys counted Ein twice for some reason. To respect the spirit of the 'beginner' feel and preserve the 9 player limit... Let me see... Hey Toony, do you mind acting as another town IC?

Dude, you can't just add one more player?  Is the whole system going to crash because of it?

No.  There is a very strict cap to 9 on beginner's games.  He'll just have to wait for XVI... which is good for him, because I'll probably run it =)

As Commander Vimes always said, if you break a rule for a good reason, pretty soon you'll be breaking it for a bad one.

This is a good reason!  I'll kill myself after so we don't have to bother with the bad reason I'm destined to do later okay?

No it doesn't.  Adding one player will either make the scum easier to hide among them or the town have extra power behind them, it goes both ways.

stupid typos

Post by: Tack on August 26, 2010, 12:57:13 am
But wouldn't one more player mean that the (second) last player would die to a NK?

So you'd need two more. I think.

But wouldn't one more player mean that the (second) last player would die to a NK?

Two would make the game slightly unbalanced for scum, three people and you would add another mafia member.
Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - Day 1 starts!
Post by: JoshuaFH on August 26, 2010, 01:10:48 am
I know I may not be particularly popular for leaving people out, but I feel that it's necessary to preserve balance.

The game is NOW OFFICIALLY STARTED!

A organization known only as the "Mafia" has recently been hired by a number of SHADY CHARACTERS to extinguish the residents of the Arbitrarytopia, for tax purposes. In a desperate bid for survival, the last nine residents have locked themselves in the town hall. However, through reasons BOTH SPURIOUS AND VAGUE, the group has decided that exactly two members of the mafia have seamlessly blended into the crowd. For the Townspeople's ultimate survival, they must suss out these individuals and put them to death. But can they do it?

Remaining Players:

Realmfighter
Duke 2.0
dragnar
Ein
Tack
Aqizzar
Akigagak
Japa
Zathras

Please type all votes in red. Anything not in red will not be considered a vote.

I intend to end the day, possibly at 6:00 PM Eastern Time this Saturday.

Voting to extend the day may be considered.

Also, never vote yourself.

Post by: ein on August 26, 2010, 01:28:13 am
Japa is the first to jump to conclusions.
He also leads with an accusation.
It would make sense for him to be accusing this 7/9 townsperson without any evidence, were he, in fact, trying to kill us all.
So I say it's Japa.

While the 7for7 is admirable, you don't say this.  You're hunting scum here.
Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - DAY 1 starts!
Post by: Tack on August 26, 2010, 01:45:29 am
The '7for7~' was just an affirmation at how elite I am at scumhunting. And obviously Zathras is scum.

Do you know the king, Scum?
Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - DAY 1 starts!
Post by: Zathras on August 26, 2010, 02:20:27 am
I don't care if he's scum or town. Lynch Zathras.
Oooh... I predict that will come back to haunt you. Hell, I may even help.

And obviously Zathras is scum. Do you know the king, Scum?
Which King? Elvis? Stephen? I don't think I've ever actually met a king. I have met the Queen (HRM Elizabeth II), though. Quite a lady.
Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - DAY 1 starts!
Post by: Tack on August 26, 2010, 03:01:46 am
Hey. Scum hunting is the priority here. But being overdramatically worshipful of, and loyal to, a person who doesn't ask for and doesn't overly enjoy the attention? That is bay12.

Therefore it's perfectly acceptable to try and get you lynched due to that.

However, a better reason would be that most likely you have Not met the queen, or at least I extremely doubt it. And if you lie about things, you're scum. The Numero Uno rule in Mafia, or so my Grandmaster taught me, was that you 'just dont claim stuff' '...unless you're mafia'.

Ergo, I believe there's a decent chance of you being mafia anyway.

Fifty replies since I signed on, this is gonna be GREAT.

Shit, we're lynching people.  I vote uh, oh god this is hard, who to lynch who to lynch lynch lynch, er, uh... Aqizzar!  No, wait, what did Toony say?  God, so complicated...

Oh hey, Zathras accused me based on my name, so I'm totally turning that shit around.  Tell me Zathras, how many characters can you think of whose names began with a 'Z', who turned out to be good guys?  Nobody whose name starts with a 'Z' is an ordinary citizen.

(Is the normal ratio of Town to Scum always 7:2 ?  Seems like a weird ratio.)
Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - DAY 1 starts!
Post by: ToonyMan on August 26, 2010, 06:46:23 am
Generally it should near 25%, but that's not what always happens.

It's 9:2, so it's more like 1:4.5. Whatever.

You're suppose to do that, but you don't have have to.
Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - DAY 1 starts!
Post by: Tack on August 26, 2010, 07:16:50 am
Actually. I revise my option. You can accuse me of vote-hopping, but I think it'd be cruel to Zathras to vote him out in the first turn, two beginner's mafias in a row.
If someone is a cop, they could survey him tonight. (Do we have paranoid, insane and naive cops in this game?)

I unvote and set my sights on... ein. Posting close to first seems to be the kind of thing a smart scum would do. Counter-posting, even smarter.

And we all know ein is smart.
And self-righteous.

Tell me, Ein. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
And do you feel good about me calling you smart?

2 scum 11 players total is in the worst spot imaginable, it's not like 10 players where the extra town guy doesn't change it enough to matter and it's not like 12 players where you just bump scum up by one to keep it close to 25%.

Also, Realmfighter.

Yes, I know.  Trust me, I'm glad to see you guys, but at the same time I'm wondering why I'm the only experienced player overlooking this cat prison right now :I

EDIT! DON'T YOU EDIT EVER OR I WILL FIND YOU!

How did I not notice that the rules I copypasted didn't include a rule about editing? Yeah, for all you new players, editing your posts in mafia is not allowed. This is to avoid chicanery and mischief.

I just altered the OP to reflect this, along with some other staple rules of mafia that I can't believe were forgotten.

We were doing so well before you threw in Dakaran's bible.

Can we just get on with the game?

Needless to say, ein wants the votes on Zathras. Which means he wants the votes not on him.
Zathras Hasn't Actually defended himself yet. And when I go through his mafia history, he usually talks a whole lot of crap when he's town, and doesn't talk much when he's scum.
So he might possibly be town.

However, as I said, we can always lynch him next.

I also call for a day reduction, because we've all pretty much got our votes in.

Also, Duke is lurking, FoS.

I'm actually starting to get a little apprehensive over that guide. It says you should look for people acting strange, so I generally try to act casual. But casual me wants to point at flaws that I somehow manage to see, and this got me barked at in another game for 'ruining the feel." Or something. Blah, whatever.

Uhh, Zathras bandwagon. Yeah, that'll be a good start.

 I vote Zathras.

So, I would like to ask those who are voting me to explain their reasons, if any. I don't particularly mind if I hang, but I'd like to at least there be a reason for it...

In the mean time, unvote.

Your reputation preceeds you. I'm expecting a good deal of people to be lynched just because of who they are. Only after the grudge kills are gone will we get to actual Mafia.

Although I do wonder why Zathras didn't take more time to defend himself. All he did was say "Comeon guys. Let's look at this guy." And while this is a standard move of deflecting the heat it also provides no real incentive to change our votes.
Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - DAY 1 starts!

Yes.

That's what happens when you try to save your partners in scumhood.

Consequently, if Zathras hangs as mafia, then we know realmfighter is mafia.

I'd start getting evidence to show otherwise.

While I'm flattered by the notion that I have a "reputation", I don't see it... I've played only one game here, where I was lynched day one, and flipped town! Or do you know me from elsewhere?

Same question to you, Tack;  what do you mean by "saving your partners in scumhood", if I've never played as scum here before? Hell, you had spoiled-spectate on the other game, so you knew I was town even before I hung.

I'd also like to point out that "grudge lynches" is NOT what this game is about or should be about. Only the scum want to hang people for reasons different than being scummy. The town can only afford one or two mislynches before the game is lost. So you either aren't playing to win (which is lame, counterproductive, and a rules violation), or you are helping the scum, because you are scum, or an anti-town bad player.

I submit these as the largest scum tells up to now:

Duke 2.0:
I'm expecting a good deal of people to be lynched just because of who they are. Only after the grudge kills are gone will we get to actual Mafia.

And Tack:
I don't care if he's scum or town. Lynch Zathras

These are both actions of scum, serving scum interests, and need to hang. Because they are scum, not because of who they are, or for their reputation, but because the town needs to eliminate the scum.

Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - DAY 1 starts!
Post by: Tack on August 27, 2010, 09:37:17 pm
Really? Because how you're declaiming me seems to be a mix of my reputation, and a whole lot of OMGUS.

Is that what motivates you, Zathras?

The first lynching is almost always town. If it's not you, we can simply cycle through until we find the people who are currently chortling in the background. But hey- If you're town, then that makes Realmfighter less likely to be Mafia, so look on the bright side there.

I'm currently considering the day reduction.

Now, I've been really congenial about people editing their posts so far, due to everyone being beginners and not knowing better. But everyone's been warned thoroughly enough, any more infractions will warrant punishment. Including, but not limited to, auto-killing the offender.

People that have habits of breaking rules are often not allowed into future games as well. Consider this but a warning.

This has nothing to do with Mafia, though. So yea, Realm. Defend yourself already. Not knowing what your doing does not make what you did any less scummy.

I suppose there's no harm in ending the day 3 hours early, seeing as how little activity there is at the present time and it's been requested with no rebuttal.

The bell tolls, and everyone looks at the scoreboard.

Realmfighter: Akigagak
Duke 2.0:  Zathras
dragnar:
Ein:  Realmfighter
Tack:
Aqizzar:
Akigagak:
Japa:
Zathras: Aqizzar  Ein    Duke    Tack   Dragnar Japa

There's no contest. The gang all turns to Zathras. Each member taking out their bludgeoning instrument of choice, be it bat, plank, stool, pans, or paddle. They all tie Zathras to the mitten mast and give him a good flogging. Just as the last wallop is dealt to him though, he collapses in a bloody messy. Formal identification papers, acquired through HASTILY CONTRIVED BUT WHOLLY RELIABLE SOURCES, are found revealing that Zathras was actually a Town-aligned Cop.

The remaining players go back to their Den's to sleep the night off.

One player is etched off the list:

Realmfighter
Duke 2.0
dragnar
Ein
Tack
Aqizzar
Akigagak
Japa
Zathros

The thread will now be locked until all night roles send in their actions. Confirmations are required by sometime next monday!

Everyone comes out of hiding, and to everyone's surprise, Duke 2.0 has been strung up in the foyer by his... er... SOMETHING-OR-OTHER! It is a grotesque crime, and upon investigating his body, the group finds CONCLUSIVE BUT ARBITRARY EVIDENCE that Duke 2.0 was a Townie

It is now the start of Day 2

remaining players:

Realmfighter
Duke 2.0
dragnar
Ein
Tack
Aqizzar
Akigagak
Japa
Zathros

I will be ending the day Wednesday around 6:00 PM eastern time.

It's not anybodies fault Zathras, a town power role has a very high chance of being lynched first day of a Beginner Mafia, let me go look up the statistics.

Beginner Mafia 1: Org, Townie
Beginner Mafia 2: Free Beer, Townie
Beginner Mafia 3: Tie
Beginner Mafia 4: Martyr Syndrome, Townie
Beginner Mafia 5: Rooster, Townie
Beginner Mafia 6: MagmaDeath, Mafioso
Beginner Mafia 7: Tie
Beginner Mafia 8: Dorf, Doctor
Beginner Mafia 9: Org, Townie
Beginner Mafia 10: Praguepride, Townie
Beginner Mafia 10[R]: Spitfire, Townie
Beginner Mafia 11: Bandages, Townie
Beginner Mafia 12: USEC_OFFICER, Townie
Beginner Mafia 13: Bandages, Townie
Beginner Mafia 14: Zathras, Townie
Beginner Mafia 15: Zathras, Cop

Statistics told me to shut the fuck up.

I'm voting for Ein

He has responded very nonrespondy(?) to my accusation of scummyness.

Your accusations were hardly more than ad hominem, Realmfighter.
What reasons have you for attacking me?

Realmfighter I've come to expect it from, but not you Aqizzar.

My point exactly.  You expect ad hominem bullshit from Realmfighter, but the moment I accuse someone of suspicious behavior, that means I must be the guilty one?  That's cahoots if I've ever heard it.

Modus is important though.  You post endless cycles of response-crap in every thread.  Realmfighter is being unusually talkative and antagonistic even for him.  Instigator.  You want to prove you're not together?  Stop voting with each other.

It would seem the sun has decided to set earlier than usual. Lazy stars, cutting work early.

Realmfighter: Akigagak Aqizzar Tack Japa Ein
dragnar:
Ein:
Tack:
Aqizzar:  Realmfighter
Akigagak:
Japa: dragnar

Every turns to Realmfighter, looking utterly dejected. He makes a desperate bid for escape, but someone in the angry mob reaches out and hits in him a SECRET PRESSURE POINT. He pads himself down, wandering what happened, but then his head swells up, and explodes! While everyone is wandering if somebody watches too much of a certain anime, a radio broadcast is heard over the local ham radio, with the announcer providing HAZY BUT VINDICATING EVIDENCE that proves that Realmfighter was in fact a Townie!

Those struck down:

Realmfighter
Duke 2.0
dragnar
Ein
Tack
Aqizzar
Akigagak
Japa
Zathros

All night roles send in your actions. The night will end as soon as that is accomplished, but I will expect confirmations by sometime Friday.

Remaining players:

Realmfighter
Duke 2.0
dragnar

Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - day 3!
Post by: Aqizzar on September 03, 2010, 08:06:30 pm
Whaohshit.  Mafia, right.  Lemme catch up...

Okay.  We lynched Zathras after some revolving accusations based on fucking around with who-accused-who first.  He was townie.  We lynched Realmfighter after I made a stunning rebuke that he and ein were voting with each other, so one of them must be mafia. He was townie.  Maybe we should stop being retarded and look at this rationally.

Meanwhile, all both people in the mafia decided to lynch first Duke and then Tack.  Duke made a few posts about the nature of mafia games and how he expected tons of grudge-lynches, carrying on a conversation with Zathras about reputations.  The mob allowed both of them to die.  Only ein didn't vote for Zathras (besides himself), he voted for Realmfighter, and Realmfighter was the first to call for a day-reduction.  Then he got lynched, after a few pages of back and forth shitposting with ein where I guess Realmfighter managed to be the more annoying of the two.  Ein abstained from voting for him.  All suspicion there washed away when Realmfighter turned out townie.  Tack made some goofy posts in the first day, then went on a personal-attack binge, before being lynched.

Duke seemed kinda sharp at sussing out strategies, Tack was doing what looked like a good job of emotionally sussing out a mobster, except we were wrong.  Were the mob afraid of being found out?  Did they see that as strategy?  Well, let's look at who's alive.

-dragnar has been the least active player, showing up only once or twice a day to vote for somebody - first randomly selecting Tack, then bandwagoning on Zathras, then singly voting for Japa for what he admits is no good reason.  He's bandwagoning on Japa right now, after randomly choosing a grudge against him earlier, and after his original vote got assassinated.  Also claims he was inactive because nobody accused him, even though he's hardly the least talkative person on the forum.  If "lurking and then bandwagoning" is the agreed metric of suspicion, then he's pretty suspicious.

-ein posts all over the goddamn place, but only changed vote once away from me - first bandwagoning on Zathras, then switching to bandwagon on Realmfighter.  Posting like mad is ein's trademark, but he's been even worse about it in this thread.  He's also bandwagoned and antagonized left and right.  Suspicious.

-Aqizzar, because I wouldn't be doing due justice if I didn't mention myself.  Okay, so, Zathras got bandwagoned after he accused me and then I reversed him.  Realmfighter got bandwagoned after I got mad and he insulted me and I reversed it on him.  And I don't post much.  I'll admit that's pretty suspicious.  Now, aside from knowing I'm a goodguy because I'm me, in my defense, I'm a serial bandwagon starter.  There's like five or six threads around General Discussion of micronations founded in my name; half the time I don't even notice the bandwagon forming.  And all of them were in response to people singling me out, which of course is always suspicious, right?

-Akigagak has been largely inactive, usually only dropping in call people out for editing and making stupid decisions.  He called the lynching of Duke stupid, which sounds like cover to me.  Day 1 he changed his vote from Japa to Realmfighter, then started Day 2 continuing to vote for Realmfighter calling him suspicious, then supported day reduction.  If he was a mafia, then he'd be doing a very good job of playing the crowd, showing up only to single people out, and complain about people breaking the rules and going inactive.  Sounds like a man invested in the game.

-Japa hasn't posted much either, but wasn't exactly inactive.  He started off voting for Tack before joining the Zathras bandwagon, while getting into a back-and-forth with Akigagak.  He showed up late to bandwagon on Realmfighter.  Now he's being accused, but isn't voting for anyone.  We've seen that same pattern of resignation before, in the two people who lynched.  Townies.  Still, if being on the winning side of votes is suspicious, he's as suspicious as most of us.

Of course, it's all too easy to draw a pattern of past voting to people eventually assassinated, but with all other head games aside, my strongest suspicions are on dragnar and Akigagak.  Going by personalities, I think the strongest case can be made on dragnar, so I vote for him.

(Also, I editted because it's giant-ass post and I made some spelling errors, sorry.)

You reasoning is sound, but I think Japa and Ein are much more suspicious than me. Japa has yet to defend himself, and Ein has been diverting attention away from himself quite effectively while bandwagoning on each day.

...Ya know, now that I think about it my avatar really doesn't help my case.

Everybody diverts attention away from themselves by bandwagoning.  And like I said, the last two times we saw someone passively accept they were being bandwagoned, they were both townies, because trying to defend yourself is suspicious too.

C'mon people, if we get this wrong, it's game over.  Let's try not to do anything stupid here.

It feels to me like I'm more drawing attention to myself, what with the mass amounts of posting and EXPLANATORY DEMANDS!

Dragnar:
I am kinda in agreement about Japa being more suspicious than you, if only because of this:
hey, I'm just not really into long winded posts, as previously mentioned. I say my piece, make my vote, and wait it out.
You seem ready, at least, to jump out if required and explain more.

Aqizzar:
You either have the best poker face, or really are town, because you aren't really acting any different at all.

I'm putting the top 3 suspicious, in my opinion, at Japa, me, and Dragnar, in no particular order.
I've been posting a lot, and you two have not.
You've not really even tried to fight it, like the other two did, and they turned out to be town.

So I'm going to unvote for a little bit and see what happens.

So, I get voted by Ein, but not being active, and 2 minutes later, I get voted by dragnar for not immediately defending myself, which is kinda impatient, if you ask me, particularly since I was at work, at the time.

as for bandwagoning, everybody does it. it's the easiest thing to do when you can't decide who you think is guilty.

anyway, I've been getting a lot of accusations from Akigagak for inactivity, when he's almost as inactive as I am.

that makes him look guilty, and more importantly, ticks me off no end, therefore, I vote for Akigagak

I've been waiting for anybody to do anything.  Counting back, I believe the vote is currently:

dragnar: Aqizzar
ein:
Aqizzar:
Akigagak: Japa
Japa: dragnar

If I understand the rules, and I might not, if there's a tie, nobody is lynched.  Then the mob will assassinate somebody in the night cycle; that will make town and mob equal, with is a mob victory.  Right?

So yeah, maybe some of you guys want to make up your minds?  It would be a rather depressing way to lose with a mob victory if we just sat around staring at each other in a Mexican Standoff until the lights go out and the mob autowins.

That one, that Ein fixed for me?

Currently, my suspicions rest on you and Japa, both because of pulling out the inactivity card, when you've both been the least active players. Oh, and asking for argument posts, then not responding once you get them. Still voting Japa, because he continues to do nothing.
Title: Re: Beginner's Mafia XV - day 3!
Post by: Aqizzar on September 06, 2010, 07:23:47 pm
I did respond.  I saw that argument post in the first place, and I said that's why I wasn't changing my vote from dragnar to you.  I kinda misspelled it, which I'm not allowed to change.  I'd go so far as to say that dragnar is the only one I can vote for in confidence now.

I'm coming to the realization that there is no such thing as a good reason to lynch any particular person.  They're each as specious as the last.  But in my defense, let me say that becoming more active in the day that a wrong vote will mean the end of the game should not be suspicious.  Since, the previous days were all wacky votes, and y'know, the game ends if we get this one wrong.

HOLY SHIT the day's over. Everyone looks at the vote toll:

dragnar: Japa Aqizzar
Ein:
Aqizzar:
Akigagak:
Japa: Akigagak Ein Dragnar

You all turn to Japa, ready to finish him off. He puts up his hand though, "No, I'll save you the effort." he says, and gets on a stool, ready to hang himself. He kicks the stool out from under his feet, but the noose is pulled out of it's flimsy ceiling support and he cracks his head against a table. You all check him, and he's totally dead, but then a TOTALLY LEGITIMATE BUT QUESTIONABLE form falls from his coat pocket... a Mafia Godfather license! Well... whatyaknow?

You all go to your respective corners to sleep the night off.

Remaining players:

Realmfighter
Duke 2.0
dragnar
Ein
Tack
Aqizzar
Akigagak
Japa
Zathros

The next day will start within two days, or when I get all available night actions.

You all get up and find Dragnar to be good and dead. He was a Vanilla Townie

remaining players:

Realmfighter
Duke 2.0
dragnar
Ein
Tack
Aqizzar
Akigagak
Japa

Day 4 starts now! I'll be ending the day on Friday at 6:00 PM Eastern Time.

Hmm.

Okay, Japa's jump vote to Dragnar could have been a last ditch attempt to implicate Aqizzar, who could be the last other townie.
But then why did Dragnar get NK'd? That puts Aqizzar more in the clear in my eyes. Unless that was the intended reason.

Ein could be the last Scum. Voting for Japa was just a way to try and clear himself of suspicion.

Bah, I'll think on it more.

Okaaay.  So apparently I guessed wrong on both counts.  I need to go back through and tabulate all the votes and suspicions again, compared to who made it.  Shouldn't be hard, provided nobody was being supercrafty, since there's only three of us left, and I'm still me.

Til then, let's all three of us just stare at each other for a while.

WIFOM is when you try to outthink what scum would do. Basically, someone says that scum would/would not do something. It's just not a good thing for an IC to tell you and only serves to trick people into thinking something else and is a common strategy play by scum.

So, him saying that only scum vote first at lylo is WIFOM, because then no one will vote first, or the Town may latch onto someone for voting first. Therefore, do not listen to ToonyMan. He is crazy and only serves to confuse others.

Oh son of a bitch.  I've been dreading this.  I've been waiting hours for somebody else to post something, but here we are.  And now I've really fucked myself over, because I'm about to go to sleep, so that's like nine hours for anything else to happen without me noticing, well after Josh said the Day would end.

I was going to tally up votes and plot out possible strategies and motives over time, but what's the point.  There's only two of you, and all three of us are almost equally suspicious to each other.  Hell, I could make an open-and-shut case against myself without breaking a sweat.  I could just flip a coin, really.  I don't know if that's better or worse than a gut-check, and that in mind...

Ein, your number's up.  It's a weak convincing, but I think I can see it all clearly now.  Here's hoping my judgment plays out right this time.

Well, yeah, I suppose so, since it's now Saturday, and I said the day would end on Friday.

The last 3, realizing the tension in the air, back away from eachother, and ready to draw. The bell tolls, and the votes are counted:

Ein: Akigagak Aqizzar
Aqizzar:
Akigagak: Ein

Aqizzar takes his six shooter, and shoots Ein dead, who then falls into a conveniently placed empty grave. Another shot sends his hat flying in with him, and then another few, presumably to scatter the dust.

"Oh, man, glad that's over." proclaims Akigagak, Vanilla Townie

"Yeah, over for you." Says Aqizzar, Mafioso.

"What?!" Akigagak scrambles for his revolver, and attempts to shoot Aqizzar, but all the barrels are empty. "Heh, when did you empty it?"

"Last night, while you were sleeping."

"Well..." dropping his revolver to the ground, raising his hands up, "Can't we resolve this like genleman?"

"'Fraid not, old chum." spitting his spent cigar to the ground, ""Cause you see, in this world..."

Sweat runs down Akigagak's furrowed brow.

"There's winners..." Aqizzar says, pulling the hammer on his six-shooter back with his thumb, "and then there's losers." and a pull of the trigger marks the last gunblast, hitting Akigagak squarely in the head, killing him instantly. Holstering his gun, Aqizzar gets atop his black stallion, Desperado, and rides off into the sunset. Perhaps the big-chinned man will meet his match someday, but today, he is the lone survivor.

Beginner's Mafia 15 winner: Aqizzar, Mafioso

Thanks for playing everyone.

You guys are idiots.

Akigigak, why would EIN CHANGE TO THE PERSON THAT WAS MAFIA IF HE WAS MAFIA?!? Securing a win by sacrificing your teammate is stupid if you're GOING TO WIN!

Aqizzar was obviously scum, seeing as how the ONLY OTHER PERSON TO VOTE FOR SCUM WAS AQIZZAR!

You're all fired.

You need to work on your lip-synching Akigagak, your accent's showing.

Akigigak, why would EIN CHANGE TO THE PERSON THAT WAS MAFIA IF HE WAS MAFIA?!? Securing a win by sacrificing your teammate is stupid if you're GOING TO WIN!

See, I was afraid I have to talk my way out of that little hitch.  I was going to mention that I was originally did change to vote for Japa at the last minute, but the very quickly deleted it because it would be too obvious a tell.  Ein started off voting for Japa, but then unvoted.  He only voted for Japa once it looked like the fix was in, see?  Yeah, not really, but that was my last resort plan if Ein wound up the target.  The real trick was just psyching somebody into voting first, and hoping they wouldn't vote for me.  I'd be happy to explain more of my strategy, since every move just makes me a worse person, which is totally on display in the Mafia chatlog.

When you think about it, I'm the real victim here.  How did I win?  By being me, and by being me.  Like Ein said, my master poker face was just being my normal self, and like Toony said, most of you rubes were afraid to vote for me for some meta-community-respect reason.  As a result, any Mafia game I ever join for now on, I'll be the first guy lynched.  Because my greatest tell is just being myself, and no one will ever trust me again.  But with the dust settled and Bill Carson's gold in my bag, let me just say in conclusion-

HahahahahahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahaha.

And indeed, ha.

Right. I gotta learn to never be 'with it' from here on in. It gets people killed.

Nobody whose name starts with a 'Z' is an ordinary citizen.

Wow, how much did that bite our asses?

You know, technically Japa won as well.

But well played.  "Psych someone into voting first" has always been the best tactic, and I speak as a veteran of pointless 3 player irc games.
