Title: Matthias' Mod Megapack
Post by: Matthias on April 07, 2007, 10:36:00 pm
IM making a mod megapack. This will include many monsters and the plants and food. I will be making/recolouring graphics in DeepQantas' style for new things. If you wan't your things included post here. I will only include or make graphics for things that actually fit into dwarf fortress. Im making this so it is not such a pain to add mods to your game or fiddle with font/graphics. Also if you want your custom font/graphics included post here. Im probably going to make an exe that you point to the dwarf fortress folder. Then you can select which mods you wan't and what resolution/font youd like to use.

You can always check the DF wiki's modding article for monsters...

You may always wish to modify a few things.
You will have to modify the graphics section to work with your tileset.

From a consistency perspective, is it really worth doing moles and the like? None of the other small creatures can have tiles, it might look a bit odd for moles to have one.

PFFT have you ever seen a mole in real life  :p? What I mean by small is normal not giant. IRL they can weigh like 40 pounds. Same with Possoms and rabbits. Things like rats and the like could probably grow only to as big as a adult mole on the small side.

Well um... yes. They're... I'd say... maybe 6 inches long? But then I guess maybe that's just the type of moles we have in Britain and it's different where you are.

The ones here can be bigger then smaller breeds of cats.

Fangs as long as your arm!  Eyes burning like coals!  Our moles are stone-cold killers!

I have this question.

How do you make graphics and how do you get them to work?

You can make graphics in damn near any image editing program you care to name, Paint, Paintshop Pro, Photoshop, whatever. As to installation, have a look here:
