i have a bunch of spider webs on top of my kitchens' walls. ->

they can't be gathered and they don't disappear over time. the problem is that except for these patches of web no other are generated in my fortress. i guess their quantity is limited or something. but i've been living without any spider cloth for years now.

Have you tried digging out the walls?

The amount of webs created by the spiders isn't capped anywhere. They do spin in inaccessible locations, which is annoying.

Those webs ought to be gatherable. Maybe there's another on the far bank on the river somewhere that's causing "gather webs" to be cancelled?
