Title: Weight Limit On Offered Goods
Post by: Azeral on December 05, 2006, 05:33:00 am
Though this is not a critical bug, it does appear to be a bug none the less. When offering gifts to a caravan, you can bypass their weight limit by selecting items of theirs to trade and then hitting 'o' to offer the items of yours. For example, if they only have 50 weight to spare and you'd like to offer them something that weighs 100, you select your item for trading (putting them 50 in the red), then at least 50 weight worth of items from them (so that they are no longer in the red) and press 'o'. You will give them the 100 weight item, they will be 50 in the red again, but the transaction will already be complete. It seems that it's checking only the post-trade weight and not taking into account the fact that the items on their left side being selected to trade...won't actually be given to you in the event of an offer. When comes time to pack up and leave, they'll ride away as normal without repercussions from being overweight (naturally, as it's not expected that they can be overweight in the first place).

This will be a handy way to offload those dozen bins of narrow clothing I've got. As it was, I couldn't trade/chasm it away fast enough.

Or "selling" those extra stone doors.  Or bins of stone blocks (2400!)

Ah, yeah, I missed that case in the calculations.  Should be straightforward to repair.
