Title: Enlarging the game window and viewing area
Post by: DDouble on October 21, 2006, 01:59:00 am
Does anyone know how to manipulate the curses tileset and init file to get a larger playing area? I dislike fullscreen mode, but I want to be able to see more of the game at once. So a bigger window with the same small resolution. Is this possible?

Fullscreen and windowed have the same display area, and as far as i know there is no way to increase the viewable area; aside from pressing TAB to get rid of the main menu.

Not quite the same thing, but I like to get a "big picture" view using the export BMP function.  I do it in windowed mode, to get the widest possible viewing area.  Then I open it with MS Paint and I can see quite a large area at once.  You can't interact with it, obviously, but it works for getting a sense of the contours of the rivers and the general shape of things.  It is like a map.
