Well I've 'felt' the gaze down the old nose reading over reactions that were free before, so I'm just flagging it ahead of time. Of course the fact I am having fun with it set this way means I'm not dwarfy enough in some way. That or it's just the 'still using my toy hammer and mini-forge' feeling. Not sure which.

So I see I've had two downloads. Nice that DFFD tracks such. Hopefully they enjoy my trainwreck.

"Trainwreck?" Yeah. Until it matches my likely unattainable vision it's a trainwreck.

50000000 to melt. Wow. Thankfully that's Degrees Urist else the atmosphere would ignite  :o

Fresh Post so I don't just cover all the lands in spoiler tags.

Ahem

So those of you goofing with this thing will notice some issues with tissues in the errorlog (and many may just fix them themselves).

Thus. Update incoming. I decidedly want this file name bug behind me.

UPDATE: The delay is testing stuff.

UPDATE2: The current delay was trying to fix the Wild Foocubi Civ I tossed together. Made them intelligent -also to try to fix the baby issues that remain even if set to really low numbers -.- (worse with the civ itself... like a year to childhood suddenly popped up... not in my raws :/ ) but left pet status on. So... the War Foocubi were workable in Therapist... I'd made them Adopts Owner... which lead to some Civies just being ultra popular. Noticed Girls only popped up from breeding with twins and triplets. WTF?

Continuing the WTF... oh boy...

Can't see the Building Requirements for Nobles... or assign work animals (Had real animals... Octopre and Delicate cats (still waiting for something to stab one... I should probably figure out how to mess with arena mode @.@... or make them trainable for war)) probably due the the pet flag sending you straight to the status/description screen. Speaking of Which... You can train Foocubi for war... but ... not... their animals? Octopre ready for war training... NOPE. Nothing to train(, lol!). Not seeing anyone coming with them in cages either... but cheese and milk barrels? yep.

Merchants get LOST. Foocubi merchants make it to the Depot. Trade just fine... and then try to leave... pathing all over the place but never ever reaching the edge. If you use Runesmith to off them... their guards -who likely were adopted/have adopted someone- just stick around... with their blasted @ startling one occasionally into thinking someone went stark raving mad.

Slightly more useful than the Angels and their "There's the depot! Let's fly on over!" And usually breaking their ability to trade... assuming they don't just path over the nearest bit of water and cause the animals to make a run for the wall, turn about, and then uselessly hang out by the Depot.

Slightly Less WTF. The Foocubi marry just fine. Yes even amid the massive "I adopt myself, and you babe. *wink*" oddness. And of course pregnancies abound... and likely because I was in control... have to test @.@ THEY LOOKED FOR THEIR INFANTS AND TOOK CARE OF THEM. Personal Silliness Aside... that was awesome to see... until it lasted a blinking year. Not in my raws buddy :/

Odd Cool thing. Since you can't pasture them anyway (Not allowed when your civ is also pet apparently) you get these FUNCTIONAL hordes moving about. Functional you ask? Well Hauling is fast. I've seen (but I could be insane) a lumberjack chop down a tree and one of their entourage take the lumber away.

Back to WTF. Took a Possession to get the Diplomat to leave. He'd moved in like the previously mentioned guards.


So yeah some odd bugs to iron out. Angels would likely fix with their flier status revoked. More convolutedly... ROOFED HALLWAYS TO THE DEPOT 20 long... or longer. At about 20 they fly ahead -.-; Problem. Wouldn't stop them losing their animals on the way due attacks THEY can fly away from. Another Solution... Flying Yaks? Which might just get stuck somewhere. :/ Like an Angel on a Rooftop without stairs...

Removing Pet status might fix my weird Foocubi civ (mine as the others put the Demon back in Arch Hardyplank, sex demon Incubus, but I am probably certifiable. `-`v) re-enabling finer controls. Might also have to give them other Cake Batter immune pets... Contact Poisons that stun... everywhere like a bad porn `-`;;

The Lolin are fairly bugfree... except for the fact I've never seen a Marriage (okay neither have the angels...)... Of course I've not seen a tantrum spiral either (ditto for the angels).

The Queen... yeah... still DOES_NOT_EXIST until I can find away to spawn ONE and only ONE on the entire planet with a name of my choosing. Her progeny I know are a million patches away... and those patches would likely be hacks. Not sure she's being worshiped... Hopefully she is... but without her on the map anywhere....... Legends mode might show something if I could navigate it right.

To highlight one part...

On a whim I made the Ear Worm... gonna have to plop that into the Arena... not sure it's tried to escape The Circus, even though it should have a Ticket (Unique_Demon) from the Ticket Booth(Candy Store, etc). Of course the ticket might not work (seems like it might not be read by the raw parser).

Had trouble with one of InternetKraken's Earth Golems. Flew around and spewed various attacks just fine... not so fine once both had major injuries. To make sure the Golem could die I dropped magma on it... heat took it out quickly... Earworm flew out of the way.

Spawned some Angels. They managed to take it out at Great Cost. Only one survivor. Unscathed but the only survivor. I felt silly and in a zone so... Still set to independent I dropped in several Lolin Lolis. They were Immediately Charged by the Angel and Dispatched. I forgot to check but I think she was still unscathed.

Prinny Trainees are a tad bugged... get their butts kicked fine... people die who fight them... but 'n/a' spam. At least it was fatal to attack.
Same for Delicate Cats... 'n/a' and got themselves thrashed... one who fought it also died.

*Fixed many tissue issues due to misplaced declarations. Glad I didn't mod MORE things male and female.
*Found where I'd hid my earworm file so that's in there again now. Ignore its errorlog.txt entries... the main parser can't touch Unique Demon. But the World Save knows exactly what to do.... spam history with reincarnating Earworms, that seem to ATTRACT giants dragons and sundry, who come to and succeed in killing them, after they slip into a civilization. Then world Gen hits the "Spawn another Ear Worm" button.
*Added 'Scrounging' to the Wirery... even with deep soil you might not see ANY copper wiring. So yeah a cheat reaction to make some.
*Mayors still tend to set themselves up as High Priest -or Vice Versa. So far this one Noble is driving added items to the EMK, and Town in a Box. Oddest personal item preferences.

To reiterate: One Day there will be Mewli "What's a Mewli?" Guess.

Other items:

Some additional Prase. High Prase for example. Let the groaning ensue.

In the If I could file:

Fans. Not windmills. Squires, Followers... etc. "You play adventure mode?" No no no. Entities who come onto the map and mooch. "Curious..." No no no. A Fan Human would arrive with others -like say how beavers/camels/migrants/etc arrive in groups, and then move in. They would of course instantly ingratiate themselves to the most popular of your civilization... [Adopts_Owner] "Wait just a sec..." Yes they would count as pets... "No no no... it would be so easy to sell them!" That too. "Sell the Elven Fans to the elves." Sure why not `-`

"Wait!" ? "This is a terrible Idea!" Oh? "You'd mod cats to do the same thing!" It would never be test worthy. "Eh?" I only get frakking badgers...

Anyway I just thought "Interrupted by Fanboy" would be tee hee worthy! Or How about a Siege of people who LIKE YOU... while the Gobbos are Invading ``

Well when I crank it out the next version will probably have a number .8

Then I think I'll just stay in .8x.yy.zz until bugs I can't control are fixed. (like [FLIER]).

currently for .8 I plan to have the Song Temple as ironed out as I can. What's the Song Temple? It makes Sungwood. What's Sungwood? The Angel's new material. I've mentioned wanting their own special material. A white wood sounds kinda appropriate. CURRENTLY you can make some improbable/illogical/doesn'tquitework things with it... all AT the temple. Why a free reaction cheat building? Because I wanna make a race that ONLY uses it to make stuff. Just haven't hammered out the race yet.

I tossed together a creature that's more of an idea bookmark - Warbeards. A Creature Variation on dwarves with adamantine tissues. I'll be testing those today too... provided the power remains on while workers do things for the owners of the house.

I'm trying really hard to not break the mod intro fragments -some part of my mind now wants to disassemble the legos so parts can more easily be released. Why I have no idea. Here's one of my new features test procedures. Ready?

Add Feature to Mod Folder ON OTHER MACHINE.
UltraCompare Folder Mode MOD folder and RAW Folder.
UltraCompare Folder Mode RAW folder and REGION-RAW Folder. Repeat for any other recent forts I think can benefit.
dfworldtinker <region> sync

Test.

Adding on the bundling...

DFMM. Uninstall mod. Delete Mod. Add Mod from Folder. Name Mod. Install Mod.
UltraCompare Folder Mode RAW folder and REGION-RAW Folder for inconsistencies (mostly of formatting. Add new formatting to MOD Folder if needed. Repeat DFMM step if needed.)
Rar up RAW Folder.
Zip Up dfmod file.
Upload Files to their DFFD pages.

So with all that. Why oh why do I feel the need to break it back up? To add complexity until I quit working on it in frustration? I'm certainly adding features before everything is 100%


And so there you have it. Insights.

Back to testing. At least my macros for building work... and with the pre-release of dfautodump actually able to be furnished this decade ~.~v

.81 should be up within 24 hours. Need a break from modding.

Splinter bits of the mod will be available some time after that. Special features will of course not be available in the splinter versions (Extra body parts, SLADE items...) so I don't go insane ^-^v

Update: Bumping the thread would be wasteful... However "Creature Variation Test B" also a failure. While "Landing Lights" would be "keen" on the Yiffians... having whole other sets of eyes... BZZZT. Also I had so much in their entry that it might as well have been a fully featured critter anyway -.-;

So A failed because I didn't know -at all- what I was doing. B failed because I don't really want to build a full CV properly... not one with natural skills and all those "add_tag:" bits. Maybe later. not right this sec.


In Odd news: The Buried have finally noticed I gave them "Friars" so they can utilize Diplomacy... meer seconds after I gave them BACK Expedition Leaders. They are making fun of me -.-; Now while the Friar does everything... I forgot to attach a squad to them. So currently no military at all. However due to simultaneous Thinking with Turrets testing... woe be to anything attacking them. Why's that? Turrets are made of balsa you say... well they breed like vermin when given a nestbox. [CLUTCH_SIZE:50:100] Your problem would be placing them for maximum coverage... and remembering to take the nest box away. Tempted to rename 'broken' Slabs "pet stones" or "herd stones" as man did the little buggers like that I put a sculpture garden in the Turret Paddock. Hiding in the corner they were dropped in... until the stones showed up, then they were SLOWLY milling about. Also keeps them from WANTING to leave the area.

Protip?

Oh and be thankful I'm testing and not Zerging the upload button. Forgot all the items METAL things can be made into. White gold (wyrd gold) currently is a mirror of the sungwood list. There are holes because of this  -.-;

UPDATE Update: Still testing, Yes I broke off for Terraria for a while, HOWEVER that .81 should happen SOON. Like this week. I just wanna expand the mini mod offerings to even my flavors of Foocubi and what not so if one were a nutter they could indeed paste it all into the same directory structure and recreate Aspectus Lolin.

Currently the minimod status is a bit weird. Most of it tests fine, but with some pieces blended too well into the "Main Trunk" I'm basically maintaining two versions. That should only really be the case with the Entities and Critters that need Foocubi bits to be 'all set' not buildings. I'm debating (as I mention above) a Bolt Sword Workshop, and of all things an EFO mini version just for AL. The EFO can blast to dust everything in DF, but I currenlty have a version in the main trunk that also has specifics for everything from the Town and the EMK. I could put them IN the town and the EMK however some are from pieces that might not be part and parcel of a given Town in a Box or EMK minimod.

I should put the priesthood changes for the Seputus into their own post... in the morning. I'm already 2 hours past when I was planning to hit the sack just because I needed to rebuild the differences between Total Vanilla, and 'My' Vanilla. zzz

Rar of Rars and dfmod file soon to upload. Minimods are currently unwanted evil stepchildren of Forgotten Beasts and can wait. I feel like I'm in a NOC that's lost AC, but has not yet somehow reached 120 Fahrenheit yet. So... you even get some not quite tested junk too. Aren't you excited?

You shouldn't be. Maybe in 5 hours I'll test... it's vegetation infront of a dvd or two time. Zargh.

Some errors spotted.

-the railgun and rails files have OBJECT:WEAPON not OBJECT:ITEM
-The Changesto the Angels and the Herald of the End Times had me botch their wing colors... I put feather in their thinking it was what I should use. Returned them to 'skin'. No brains left to figure out what I should have done there.
-Pixie and Fairy dragons... all this time I didn't know I'd not given/removed THEIR EYES @.@ so of course they couldn't have iridescent eyes -.-;

And of course the two 'what;'s a unique demon token?' from object testing. IF only some of the other errors were so easy to stomp `-`;

If requested I can put up changes ASAP otherwise I plan to wait until I can crank out the minis. I have them all in folders They're ultracompared almost daily at this point. But I still have to test some parts of Urban Renewal... probably with the Damned Innsmouthers... so I can get some more religion testing in `-`v

Update: So while I did manage to clean the error log so deceptively easy... the mostly untested -it's been tested just undesired results- for Urban Renewal is a pain in all 4 rectums!

UR has 2 Components. The Most broken is little more than an area denial at this stage. 1,5,10,15, or 32 square 'workshops' to keep things from growing... also I'd thought to perhaps furrow the terrain. Yeah right. Just growth denial. How pathetic when I'd hoped for more. Easier to designate a stockpile -.-; I did plan on them being solid at one point... but BLOCK tokens lead us to part 2.

Temporary Walls. For those individuals who lament walls being untargetable by building destroyers. Knowing it would hate all over me I only have 1x1 and 32x1 sections. With the ability to build them from north south east or west... the thought being you could MAKE SURE something walled off AND YOUR WORKER WAS ON THE CORRECT SIDE.

1x1 Build East and Built North are properly BLOCK tagged. West and South are not. I hate how rows and columns are done. I hate the order the BLOCK tag works in. And boy were the Work locations OFF for the 32 bit walls. And boy were the BLOCK tags off -.-; I mentioned hating the row and column stuff right? and hating block tags? Oh okay -.-;


Peculiarity... the Seputus never achieve High Priests in world gen. So they just have worship lists -no friars nothing, just deities.

Parts I'm fixing/working on:
Aluuvian's Religion Mod 2.0's Monarch is currently "Emissary" and the spouse is the Legate Consort... still by Heir, and still the High Priest.

Urban Renewal is fixed. All hail Workshop Draw. Now you can build 32x1 'walls', seal yourself in/off and a troll comes along and smashes it... or any building destroyer. Or maybe your painstakingly lain out 1x1 'walls'. Testing the area denial buildings still.

base lined all baby and child time periods(180 days and 1 year respectively)... hopefully the numbers are "high enough" to be listened to by df -as in not just "minimum one year as baby and one year as child"

And of course I'm working on the .81.1 release with all this testing.

MORE UPDATES:
As no one uses this I hadn't a clue I botched the hell out of bodies. I knew I couldn't just use:
[Body:Humanoid:Neutral..]
[Caste:Female]
     [Female]
     [Body:Female]
...

and Adding via CV seemed to indicate a static state -couldn't assign an attack as the part didn't exist.

So! I'd been accidentally doubling bodies while simply wanting to cover my buns lest I add a caste (say noble specific) but forget to give it a body. I had no idea why people were covered messily in clothing, and why the combat logs seemed REALLY SPECIFIC. Perhaps I should get a DNA sample and clone my own testers.

Too bad I can't do that WITH DF Raws. Then I could set their raw modding skill levels at like 20...

That's it for this Post Update. With all the changes I guess I should say the next uploads should be called .82.2 after all version numbers DO matter Mozilla  >:(

Not to be rude but I think maybe you should think about editing your last post instead of posting on top of yourself all the time. You've just posted 11 straight times in a row... With messages like:

Also again, not meaning to be rude and I can't speak for anyone else but I find your 'stream of consciousness' manner of writing is quite confusing and hard to follow ???. When I look at the opening post I just see an explosion of information and it's hard to take it all in. Maybe try shooting for quality of information over quantity, break it up with some headings and subheadings or something.

I only bump when it is something new. I do a mess of editing normally. However I can't see who is or isn't following the thread -or I might just PM the handful of them.

I will take your feelings somewhat into consideration, but I'm really not looking to learn a new table format to make sure things are as I plan them.

As for proper separations it's a bit difficult at present due to the fact I did not reserve several posts.


Not to be rude, but anything to say about the mod collection itself? Else this could have been a PM.

0.82.1 is up. Huzzah. The Mini Mods bits went up earlier and thankfully save for some formatting typos do not need to be re-uploaded. Double Huzzah.

Wish me luck in my testing. So tests complete! Yay Sphalerite! 2 Adamantine Spiders bit and pushed each other for 8 game days in the arena before one fell to the other. Huzzah! Next step -if I take it- is to add to the CV_Giant Spider to remove or adjust the smaller spider's toxin so Giants have their own immunity list and little spiders get mauled by the larger ones.

Neither size is currently casted to avoid making 'My Little Arachnid'. As that would require size tuning, syndrome tuning, and other things I'm trying to avoid. They're just supposed to be things to chase your civvies around not develop architecture and armor. :'( Why does my crazy friend think it's a good idea?

Anyfey I think I've narrowed down the trait breaking foocubi merchants and guild representatives. As they only have 6 personality traits defined, and I've seen something with SELF_DISCIPLINE at 0:5:15 succeed in doing their job... I must oddly enough stare at [PERSONALITY:ALTRUISM:X:Y:Z]. An odd thing to set one's sights on but with so few items to aim at that might curb behaviour in favor of hanging out with locals instead of one's duty... I have no other targets. Thus I have yanked it from some entries, and curbed the Z for others all the way to 80.

If anyone's reading and thinks I'm nuts... please prove me wrong. I'm not finding much on the bug tracker...

Just editing -5 billion years later - to clarify what's going wrong with the merchants. [ADOPTS_OWNER]. They are wandering off after someone: thinking about them as an owner/trying to claim them as their owner. DFHack has shown adjustments to "relations.following" that almost constantly need to be cleared in order for trade to progress -worse for anyone needing to speak with the Expedition Leader/Mayer/Etc as any time their meeting pauses they're off to claim someone.

I'm testing Functional Immortality. More necromancers... but oddly enough lots of 3000-5000 year olds all over the place. I do NOT wanna just say 100-30000 because violence is bad enough without people just keeling over because they'e gonna die on the 5th month of their 174th year.

New content. I mentioned the firelizards I hope. I think I covered androids. Well just about everyone and everything got it's romantic needs tweaked... as soon as I heard about that stuff. My S.L.A.D.E. stuff got updated to 40.06... I've stolen the Mixery for use with DIRECT beverage concoction. Not just the randomness of the still (or dfhacking the job to use SPECIFIC materials).

I might make a Lhigate fortress building to go with all the cheat creature vartiation I've recently cranked out.

Speaking of new creatures... Several Horned entities Based loosely on Soraka from League of Legends have cropped up. Feralhorns who have no civilization to speak of; Proudhorns who value romance and friendship and magic; and Vilehorns who Value Friendship just fine. It's beautiful tearing it apart. MWAHAHA

Also the Ibex Men tweak the Gardohn might have mentioned them. Can't recall. InternetKraken's Diverse creatures has also felt the touch of romance and the various sirens are all now properly spouse converters. Even with Hubby castes.

I'll probably remember more later. Probably when I have the sanity and energy to work on the various split out mods. Probably need to fiddle with git to make it do it for me next time. Already so much cruft all over the files since 40.01 popped up.
