I've planned to make it for a long time and now it's time to give out a call to people...
Many people like to play with ASCII, yet there's a big problem with not enough characters for different creatures, especially with mods.
So I thought about... drawing letters. With some specific colors/effects, so they would stay letters but show the creature better.
An example:

^ Sheep, snake(asp), giant cave spider, giant scorpion, skeleton, zombie, bone golem...

^ cat, crocodile, camel.
It will be a hell lot of work to do if I do it alone, maybe someone wants to contribute random creatures? Don't get too carried away, just draw main features :)

Wow, that's really cool. I'd like to see a whole set like this.

It's a cool idea, but how do they work? I thought the letters representing creatures are taken from the ASCII tileset stablished in the art folder. Can we introduce different letters to the original ASCII tileset?

It works just like a standard tileset (Phoebus, Ironhand, Mayday, etc.) but the symbols for creatures are stylized letters.
I like this idea a lot and would definitely use it. I'm not much of a pixel artist but I could try to contribute a little.

That would be the best dragon tile ever. Or it could be a sea serpent.
