I'm mostly playing on my Arch Linux server and use ssh to play. That machine has very good cpu which means I'm not limited by my laptop cpu (fps starts to drop at around 20+ dorfs if played on it). DF is available as a standard distro package on Arch so getting it to run and be up to date is a no-brainer.

Attached below is a valid INI file for Dwarf Fortress 0.43.05-win32 which should work in Dwarf Therapist v.37.0:

Oh man this rainy day suddenly got a lot better. Big thanks!

Man I wish I was more into coding, then I'd help migrating to the new version :( Playing without DT really sucks.

After embarking in terrifying region my last couple of games (in most of those I were just trying to dig instantly and move everything important underground then locking the door) and after succeeding to raise a fort and getting full steel squad with master skills I have noticed that that they weren't that much of a thread to those undeads. After seeing a caravan with guards getting decimated by a single dwarf corpse and a left hand I got worried. Well trying to deal with those undead ended my fort, one risen inside of my fort and I have failed to contain it even thoough I felt i was prepared.
The strength boost is somewhat okay (mabye just slightly too high), but the agility boost (resulting in constant dodging and very quick attacks) is too much. It feels more like fighting master warriors that can not be stunned than fighting a dead, dumb body. I could understand if they were like some damned, half dead half alive beigns with a working mind and just strenght boost from their curse but right now this does not seem to be the case. Even if it were then kinda... I don't like the fact that even someones arm poses a huge threat (untrained and unarmed civilans can't even dream about surviving such encounter from what I have seen).
I think they need a slight nerf or at least tweaking, right now I don't really see any point in embarking on an evil zone, in 0.34 things were fun (just slightly underpowered imo) but right now it's just plain silly.

Okay another problem surfaced, I am unable to start The Rapist - trying to run it from LNP does nothing and when I have tried to manually start it from the console I get:
Code: [Select]
./dwarftherapist
which: no DwarfTherapist in (/usr/bin)
ERROR: /usr/bin/DwarfTherapist not found.

Verify $_DT_BINARY defined in /root/Downloads/04024r3-i686/LNP/utilities/dwarf_therapist/dist/dwarftherapist script is set correctly.

Am I doing something wrong or on 32bit linux it never worked?
Right now I have downloaded DT as a standalone and its working properly but the LNP one won't start.

Could you try replacing distro_fixes.sh with this and see if it works without that change? (I just changed it to locate zlib on non-64-bit platforms.)

I have added the # before zlib preload in ./dfhack to disable it then used that file you posted and IT WORKS :) I'm using Arch 32bit btw

8
Try using PRELOAD_LIB instead (before the line that runs distro_fixes.sh).
Also, is that a 32-bit distro?

Yay it works! Thx a bunch!

Hello
I have a problem while trying to start dfhack - I get: "Not found: /data/art/Phoebus_16x16.png". So I have searched for a bit and found out that on newer linux versions i need to preload zlib so adding export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libz.so.1 to ./df made it able to start but after editing dfhack with this line i still get this "Not found" error. When dfhack is starting I get this as output:

Code: [Select]
[distro_fixes] INFO Checking whether any ARCH/distro specific fixes are required...
[distro_fixes] INFO OS: Linux
[distro_fixes] INFO ARCH: i686
[distro_fixes] INFO VER: 4.0.7-2-ARCH
[distro_fixes] INFO DF_ARCH: 32-bit
[distro_fixes] INFO DF_BIN_LOCATION: /root/Downloads/04024r3-i686/df_linux/libs/Dwarf_Fortress
[distro_fixes] INFO Done

and then it stops while popping up window with "Not found: /data/art/Phoebus_16x16.png" message.
I have no idea why export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libz.so.1 works with ./df but won't work with ./dfhack
please help

And i was just getting used to the dwarf head tile :) but this new one looks good too, it's dwarfy enough for me. Also new furniture looks much better in my opinion. But barrels still not gothic enough :D

Semi-graphical version is very pretty. The only things that I kinda don't like are the barrels and pillars. Pillars look really weird at the top and I would love to see some sort of rugged/old style for the barrel to match the gothic/medevil theme of your tileset.

Looks slightly brighter now, I like that :) previosely I had some problems looking ad dark text or dwarves that were recruits, they were just too dark.

You are going to make different graphics for each profession? It would be nice :) I'm looking forward to what you will come up with.
