I see a few changes in the new 12x12 version:

You got rid of the stripes in tile #0. (What were those stripes for?)
Column is now solid instead of hollow.
Tree trunk now uses the "O" tile.
The curves in double walls are now curvier.
The barrel/screw pump was un-inverted.
Dead dwarfs don't have crowns anymore.
Tile #10 was changed, but I'm not entirely sure if that tile is used for anything.
The 12x12 tileset doesn't have a the fields color scheme set by default, and its sky color in the d_init is also at default.
The 12x12 version has its own dwarf graphics tiles now.

Will the improvements from the 12x12 version make their way to the 16x16 version?
The 12x12 soil tiles aren't using the percentage tile anymore (The 16x16 version includes an "inorganic_stone_soil.txt" object file to change them to the percent sign tile. (Why does the 16x16 version do this, by the way?))

Wow, you know more about the set than I do! I work on it very occasionally and I don't keep track of many changes or even why I made certain changes. So I'm sorry to say I don't have many answers for you.

I'm guessing I made the inorganic_stone change way back, trying to get rid of some of the weird symbols occurring in soil that I didn't like the look of.

You've got me back on track though, I think I'll work on the original set some more!

Mini set officially released. I do plan on adding shading to it, like in the main set, in the future.

4
Kynsmer, do you know where the "Dawnbringer" and "Jolly" color palettes come from?

I snatched Dawnbringer from Taffer's tileset and Jolly from Jolly Bastion.

i recently started playing df, but i had to sign up because i wanted to let you know that i love wanderlust so much!
it's the only set that's visually pleasing to me haha. i hope you'll continue to work on it (& wanderlust mini because i'm using it right now and i'm in lovelove)!
tysm for sharing!

I'm back after a brief hiatus! I plan to finish Wanderlust Mini and make some improvements to the main set. Stay tuned :)

Maaaan, I really love this tileset, but, now as the version 43.05 came out, is there any way to play it with this particular tileset regardless, even though it is not updated to 43.05 (yet? I hope for the best) ?

The current version of the set should definitely be compatible with 43.05. If you do experience issues, install without the /raw/ folder.

Also, Masterwork Reborn players - I will be adding support to both sets.

Thanks for the wonderful feedback, folks.

Next step is experimenting a bit more with walls and dwarves, maybe breaking that 5x5 rule in a few places as unnoticeably as possible, and then adding some light shading. At that point I'll put an officially updated download on Page 1.

Which of these dwarves do you like most, by the way?

The unshaded is looking very nice and definitely easy to read (then again, I sit at the command line all day, so I am pretty versed in monospace fonts). Hype intensifies.

Appreciated!

The first unshaded draft of the 12x12 set is finished.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Here's the download for those that are interested. Right now there will probably be a few mistakes/misplaced pixels, bear with me.

As always, either clear out your /raw/ folder or use a fresh DF install.
(If you have a past save you want to use with this set, clear out your /raw/ folder, and replace with Wanderlust's /raw/ folder. Do the same with /data/save/region/raw/, but leave the /objects/ folder if you have one.)

Some things I'd like your thoughts on:

- I'm a bit unsure of how to proceed with the dwarf tiles. With only 5x5 to work with, I couldn't make them look like the 16x dwarves in the slightest. How do you like these little poker-face dwarves I have at the moment?

- I've made grass/lush tiles 2x darker. Do you find looking at the surface layer easier on the eyes with this change? It's something I could apply to Wanderlust 16x too.

- Do you think the walls look out of place?

Thanks!

It's technically 5x5 scaled up with an extra pixel on all sides for padding and drop shadow, bringing it to 12x12.
I'm thinking of making two 12x12 sets. This one, which adheres as strictly as possible to the 5x5 style, and another that allows a second layer of detail and stylizing. This second set would likely not look like Wanderlust at all and would warrant a new thread and a new name. We'll see! For now I'll finish the set you see previewed below. I really like how the font came out. (Still unshaded)

Hey, just shouting out to say that this tileset is really beautiful. I sometimes play DF on a 1080p monitor, and when I do, this is the tileset I use everytime. The ability to choose colors is another great bonus! If you did a 12x12 version, I would use it all the time (gotta have that high information density, y'know?)

12x12 is now in the works :)

Might actually do a 10x10 in the future as well, per Bitoru's request.

Here's an unshaded preview of what Wanderlust font looks like in 12x:

Pretty interesting, almost looks like a completely different set at first glance. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Small update (2.7): Improved beds, barrels, slashes, and military dwarves. Data/art and raws are affected.

Tilesets and Graphics / Re: AutoReiv [10x10(x2)] graphic set [0.40.24]

Though it was an acquired taste for me, I really like this set! Great work, the aesthetic is lovely.

To those who have difficulty reading the font at a glance in menus and such, using Taffer's set as the font with TWBT works surprisingly well.

I love this stuff. Are there any plans for, say, a 10x10 version?  :D

A 10x10 version would be difficult, I'd have to rework the entire set to keep it looking crisp. No plans for it at the moment.

This tileset is gorgeous. So much so that i'd like to use it as my programming font. Would it be possible to have a ttf version of the font ?

I've never worked with font editing/creation, but I'll look into it!

Hello all, glad to see so many of you enjoying the tileset.

Version 2.6 still works perfectly with all 40.XX versions of DF as of 40.24. Post updated.

Looks great though would you be able to do some diagonal walls?

Perhaps, in a future update.

The 0.40.15 version of the tileset will work for all 0.40 versions, including the most recent 0.40.19.

It's always lovely to see a new, nicely presented tileset here on the graphics subforum. The font doesn't quite align with my tastes, but that's an easy customization with the TWBT plugin. I'm a big fan of smiley dwarf tiles, though, and yours are just great.

Overall: charming, clean, and surprisingly unique! Nice work :) I'll definitely give this a go.
