Curses / Re: Game Gripes -- things that annoy you about LCS

Speaking of hardcoded stuff, the fact that Conservatives with weaponry sets based on the Gun Control status is still hardcoded is irksome. I remember a year ago when a edited creaturetypes.cpp (I think that was the file...) so cops, mercenaries, CCS goons, etc. could use the guns provided by Liberal Additions (back when Liberal Additions included a huge amount of weapons). Fun times, except for the fact that Prison Guards got broken and would more often than not cause segfaults when spawned.
On a different note, I definitely think the CCS deserves some buffing to make them more of an endgame threat. A "Confederate Gazette" that glorifies the CCS and demonizes the LCS would be a neat idea. The CCS could get hackers of their own to tap into LCS communications and, say, publish lists of LCS members (bringing down heat on your safehouses) or determine where you're going next and either tip off the cops or deploy some thugs to take care of things themselves.

2 things that bug me:

1) No armor for Death Squad uniforms. These guys are supposed to be the ultimate hardasses who will strike fear into Liberal hearts, but that's hard to believe when you'll probably be having more trouble with the armored SWAT teams.

2) The fact that the augmentation list seems... unfinished. Specifically, a handful of them are absolutely free, and one of them has a max-age requirement- but only one!

Thankfully, both are easily fixed with some XML editing- I'm glad I entered the community after XML support was implemented.

Curses / LCS 4.12.1 Bug Report- Founder Creation Problem
« on: August 11, 2017, 06:46:25 pm »
Hello there,
I just started using the 4.12.1 version of LCS posted the other day, and I'm running into an issue with founder creation and stats.
When creating my founder, I chose options B, B, B, A, E, A, B, A, C, D.
In theory this should give my founder 8 HRT, 5 INT, 1 WIS, 10 HTH, 10 AGI, 10 STR, 5 CHA
However, in practice my founder's stats are 1 HRT, 2 INT, 1 WIS, 4 HTH, 5 AGI, 6 STR, 1 CHA
This only appears to happen for the specific answer sequence given above; when I answered A at question 1 as an experiment my founder's stats were calculated correctly.
Any ideas as to why this is happening, and how to fix it?

Curses / Re: LCS Github Compiling?

If you're using Windows 10, I would highly recommend downloading Bash and then following the instructions in COMPILE_README for compiling in Linux. After countless fruitless hours of wrestling with CodeBlocks and Visual Studio, getting the [gosh diddly darn] game to finally run was satisfying. From my experience, compiling in Linux as-is will get everything to work except for music (as far as I can tell).
How to install Bash on Windows 10: http://www.howtogeek.com/249966/how-to-install-and-use-the-linux-bash-shell-on-windows-10/
Good luck!

Curses / Cannot find -lncurses (Compiling 4.10)
« on: September 19, 2016, 08:26:43 pm »
Hey all,
I've been trying to compile the community (GitHub) version of LCS for a while now, and I've almost gotten it to work but for this error:
||=== Build: Release in Liberal Crime Squad (compiler: GNU GCC Compiler) ===|
ld.exe||cannot find -lncurses|
||error: ld returned 1 exit status|
||=== Build failed: 2 error(s), 0 warning(s) (0 minute(s), 0 second(s)) ===|
||=== Run: Release in Liberal Crime Squad (compiler: GNU GCC Compiler) ===|
I've searched the forum already for threads about compiling LCS in CodeBlocks, but haven't found anything I can do to fix this problem.
I'm using the GNU GCC Compiler and mingw32, both of which were downloaded separately from CodeBlocks. The compiler's linker settings are:
-lpdcurses
-lSDL2
-lSDL2main
-lSDL2_mixer

The project has been built in both Debug and Release. If it matters, I've altered the code in creaturetypes.ccp some in order to assign new weapons from the Liberal Additions mod to creature types whose weapons are hardcoded. There's not much more information I can think to provide: if there's anything else you need me to tell you, please let me know.
