Tayir

When you attempt to pick the game up, you find yourself incapable of even reaching for it. Every time you try, a buzzing sound plays.

Tayir

As noted, you seem to phase into a new area entirely, leaving your body behind. The shop sells a wide variety of games, though you've no idea what they'd be played on as there's no consoles or hardware of any kind on sale.

Aiko, Shizu, and Brynn

The facade of a world continues to be just that, with no sign of the realm's magical girl. The frustration of the complete lack of interactability is starting to set in. It's like this world was made to have every appearance of excitement and wonder, but then it's creator completely forgot to actually include any substance.

Nanonai moves to zone 2 and Basic Attacks Armor Max E.

She loses 1HP from Poison and it wears off.

Further exploration doesn't reveal any interactable NPCs, but you do start to get a feel for how things work here. There's the locked doors, but also some buildings seem to have totally inaccessible doors, which the shades will go in and out of Feely, but you cannot pass through no matter what. There's also three doors which you can enter, sort of. Trying to go through them causes you to feel as though reality disappears and the interior appears, while any of the party that don't enter will see those who do simply standing there outside the door.

These three doors all seem to lead to shops. One selling food, one selling clothes, and one selling video games.

None selling keycards.

Nanonai uses Only Mine on Armor Max E for 1d4+7 Pure  and taking 6 Sacrifice.

She then uses Forever Apart on Armor Max A to deal 1 Pure with her equipped weapon.

Death Timer grants her 1 SHD.

Luckily, the trek to the Land of Games and Chores proves uneventful.

The land itself feels less like a city and more like a video game hub town. There's NPCs milling all about, much like Hinako's realm, and most of them simply phase through you if you try to flag them down. You also find that virtually every door requires some kind of special keycard to enter, with different levels depending on the importance of the door.

There's no sign of the land's ruler just yet. It's a fair bet that she's inside one of the buildings.

"Dying freaking sucks." Shadow contributes her opinion as an experienced dier.

Also, Charlotte walked off while you guys weren't looking.

"I don't want rain on your parade." Shadow chimes in through Shizu, "But how? I'm not even sure I can pull you back with your beacons, there's no way I can rescue anyone else. If you want to break out, you have to do it within the rules of the game."

"I shook my head at the dame. 'I hate to disappoint a pretty face, but you'll hear no apology from me.' I said plainly, 'If I hadn't held you back, you'd be dust by now. That girl's a machine for makin' death.' It was hard to believe she was barely more than a child. Unlike a lot of the misfortunate souls who ended up here, Dorothy had clearly started with a knack for killing. I was loath to think what sort of monster had turned a child into a weapon of mass destruction like that. Or what other sort of monster had been strong enough to put her down for good."

"Another visitor meant another threat, especially when that visitor had survived an encounter with the shadow of death herself. I hastily moved to reapply my power as the three girls gathered in my territory. 'Charlotte✩Monochrome, P.I.' I introduced myself to the injured little girl. I offered her a lollipop manifested with minimal sleight of hand, the least I could do in lieu of medical attention."

Brynn and Tayir

As Brynn approaches the city and Tayir flies up, the two of you chance close enough to spot each other. Although Brynn has no means to recognize Tayir and Tayir is distracted by ensuring their home is safe.

Thankfully, the lake appears to be steaming a bit, but otherwise untouched.

"Induction Mode." the device's voice echoes. Its form rapidly begins to shift again. Initially it seems to transform back into a staff, although it's a bit larger and needs to be held with two hands. Then front end of the staff splits open, red energy crackling down the split as it opens up.

"Lightning Cross Breaker." the mechanical voice says flatly.

Energy begins to gather along the two halves of the split staff, rapidly clarifying the nature of the weapon. As it grows larger, you suddenly realize why she didn't wait for you to finish powering up before vanishing. Of course it's too late for you to change course to try to go back and interrupt her now.

"Lightning..." Dorothy says slowly with determination.

"Cross..!" Though she's speaking loudly, the whine of energy makes her almost inaudible anyways.

"BREAKER!!!"

The shout is accompanied by what feels like time standing still. Even though you know a magical attack like this won't hurt you, the sheer amount of energy built up is enough to make you doubt your very existence for just a brief moment. And in the next moment, everything around you is red.

The beam lasts for what seems like ages, but despite the roar of a powerful energy blast incinerating the air itself, you remain completely untouched.

"Tch." Dorothy makes a sound of annoyance to herself as the light fades and she recognizes your lack of being-obliterated.

It seems this is finally enough to convince her to halt her pursuit, and she turns to fly away, vanishing in a cloak of shadows as she does so.

And not a moment to soon, as you suddenly revert back to corporeal form. The final drops of your mana consumed, you are left largely powerless, though at least you can still fly. Regenerating, however, is going to take a bit until you drop your transformation and your mana stores have a chance to recover. The air around you still crackles with red electricity as you make your way towards the nearby city.

Aiko, Shizu, and Tayir

"Before I had a chance to formulate a response, a huge red beam crashed through the clouds and nearly blew my humble realm to smithereens. 'Course my power could handle that no problem, but it meant dropping my grip on the two nearby dames. A simple choice, rea..."

Charlotte's monologue trails off as the energy beam suddenly changes course and fires into Tayir's lake, rather than destroying Charlotte's home. The noir magical girl breathes a sigh of relief as he manages to scrape by on the skin of his teeth once again.

Your legs are no longer part of your body.

"Sealing Mode." Dorothy's weapon belatedly announces from behind you as she flourishes it. A puff of exhaust emerges from its paired vents and an object not unlike a bullet casing pops out of a revolving cylinder near the central ring.

The staff has reformatted such that it now appears to be a double-bladed longsword. It's edge still glows with pristine red energy, having cut through you so swiftly and cleanly that not even a single drop of blood splattered on it.

Brynn

She turned invisible while you were showing off. You have no idea where she went but she didn't see like a solid 90% of that.
