I was massacring a town of humans, when I accidently overexherted myself. A human child walks up to me and punches me in the lower body. It exploded into a pile of gore.

I sometimes set up a "real" stone fall trap, that is a bit of floor above a pressure plate that is rigged up to a support holding up the floor. Upon stepping on the pressure plate the entire floor falls down knocking out the intruder. You can also dig out the dirt underneath the trap (leaving the floors). When triggered the cave in will go through the floor trapping the invaders.

I think frequency does increase as you move closer to different civs. I had one fort real close to some goblin towers and it would be ambushed almost every year.

Water is so deadly in this game. (Hell I just accidently flooded like half my dwarves in the meeting hall) It gives us power to show that we have mastered it. (Or so we think.)

Three 10 tile long 3 wide bridges. With a pull of a lever the two outermost ones raise towards the middle one, while the middle one retracts down to my arena filled with all sorts of nasties.

I once embarked right next to a chasm. The moment I unpause the game a GCS jumps out of the chasm. Those 7 untrained peasants sure took a long time to kill it. Two died in the process, and the other five beat on it for atleast a game day.
