Granite 1st 127 - Since I was the first one to pass out at the new years party it looks like I have suddenly been named the new leader of frotress going-ons

Trying to make the best of this situation now that I'm stuck with it I gave myself a grand tour of the fortress.
First of all the fortress is oddly spread out with not very much room set aside for workshops and storage, I shall use my skills with the pick to remedy this.
Also it seems that the pervious over seer was very interested in digging an exploratory mineshaft straight into the middle of this little fortress, hopefully we dont find a cave dragon in the first cavren the miners uncover, that would surely destroy our little mountain home.
4th Granite - My partner in mine, Reg, just discovered a underground cavern, though it contains a cave crcodile rather than a cave dragon we should still be on the look out.

Put all out useless sods into the military and released all the useful craftsmen from a life of servitude.
12th Granite - Expanded the central stairway to 2x2 as opposed to 1x2, that should give me more room going up and down the fortress!
16th Granite - We now have one fully trained wardog guarding the tiny hall that serves as our entrance.
13th Slate - Small as the fortress is it is still needlessly spread out, in order to fix part of this I have begun designing a brand new workshop area, though this doesn't solve the problem it will make it easier to oversee what each dwarf is building.
1st Felsite - A large band of migrants came to the fortress today, a mason, a miner, and a bunch of useless sods who will be put to use in the military. There is also a very confused dwarfen trader just hanging around the outskits of the fortress, it doesn't seem like he belongs.

6th Felsite - These Giant Kea are becoming quite the nucence, I'm going to have the military take care of them after they're properlly trained.
17th Felsite - A large group of zombies just showed up on our frount lawn, time to lock the doors!

21st Felsite - Upon doing a quick head count it looks like a fisher dwarf has been left outside, armok rest his soul.
10th Hematite - Since the necromancer is expanding her army with the giant Kea we've dumped outside all future refuse plies will be placed inside behind locked doors.
11th Hematite - You'd think that the zombies clawing at out door would motivate our military but instead they're doing this:

27th Hematite - The soldier ened up making this usless trinket:

20th Malachite - Zombies still pounding at the door. Found and removed an unmarked leaver, nothing is more dangerous than a leaver without a note attached.
20th Sandstone - I figured I would get used to their constant scratching at the door but instead it is getting harder and harder to sleep at night
25th Timber - A squad of Kobolds showed up today, they were quickly slaughtered and added to the zombie ranks. Such is the circle of unlife.
7th Moonstone - One of our recruits just gave birth to a baby girl, the fortress population is now 45.
8th Opal - A child just completed this fortresses first useful artifact:

he will be given specail recognition once he finally comes of age.
16th Obsidian - another group of kobolds attacked and were struck down worsening our current zombie problem.
1st Granite 128 - The other dwarfs, upset by my lack of desicion on what to do about the large zombie horde out side the door have made me step down as fortress overseer, hopefully the next overseer has a better grip on how to handle zombies than I do.
I will however continue to expand and reorganize our stockpiles/workshops to ever increasing efficientce.
