To break the monotony of Ligachev, I say Yeltsin.

FLY THE FLAG OF THE FREE MARKET

THE MARKETS ARE FREE, SO MUCH MONEY FOR ME
DIRTY BRITISH CAPITALIST.
AT LEAST I DON'T STAND IN A LINE FOR A LOAF OF BREAD

(OK, I've run the joke into the ground now. Mission accomplished.)

Got bored, punctured a creek that was at the fort's entrance, watched it slowly fill up the fort and watch dwarves drown. There were a bunch of doors, so some dwarves were trapped in the bedrooms. I recall one trapped in the food storage room who kept tantrumming and throwing barrels around.

Death by drowning is slow with water. Should try magma if ever get the chance...

Don't forget the fact they're strong enough to punch trees down.

@Black: Do I take that as a request to send John to Kokror?
Yes, you do.

@Black: Do I take that as a request to send John to Kokror?

I counter-request that order. I do not want to be sent to face the titan. (But I'd love to be the epic hero who killed it that be in almost every engraving)

Also, if you ever use in me (or nuke) in dialoge (Spelt that wrong. I know), refer to me as MALE.
OK, Falcon and Nuke are officially girls pretending to be guys. This makes for great character interaction.

Name change.

I want to be called Kate, but pretending to be a man named John.

Just helping with the story  :D
Kate could be the sister to the real John. He was supposed to join the embark but she replaced him at the last second against his will. Why, I am not sure.

We are only a screen away from "Kokror", a shrine guarded by a mountain titan composed of vomit.

"Cockroar?" So the shrine is a giant marble penis. Probably shouldn't send any female warriors out there, they might get involved in some sordid mountaintop ritual. And are we sure that titan is composed of real vomit? It might be a semen titan.

...wait. Aren't me and Nukedorf technically (for the moment) female?
HEY FALCON, WE'RE SENDING YOU TO COCKROAR. WE'RE SURE YOU'LL LUV IT.

and I am almost sure that the citizens of Paperscale with descend into a state of katocracy, with every man for himself.

Ooh, I like the prospect of this.

In the meantime, TO THE CAVERNS!

Does everyone on this expedetion team have a grudge against everyone else?
Yes. Aren't all expeditions like that? I mean, when you're stuck on a wagon with six other dwarves on a trip to what WILL become your grave in the middle of nowhere, it's really easy for everyone to start hating each other.

Also the gender issue is not a big deal. Dwarves don't care about gender, why should we?

I can't wait for you to get us all killed by demonic abominations.

Should they even know slade exists? I doubt every world has had someone break into hell, write about the properties of the floor, make it out alive and educate everyone about it.

Indeed. Im just savescumming the embark right now, checking up on anything. We are only a screen away from "Kokror", a shrine guarded by a mountain titan composed of vomit.

Oh, and a Upright Adamantine Shortsword
This will end well.

So...all the stuff is on top of the mountain. I guess...dwarven wagons fly, and crashed on the summit. Hm.

Can always get wood from the caravans, if they manage to survive the trip there.

I like it. Looks like it can work out quite well.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Who do YOU Give the Best Tombs?
« on: November 22, 2010, 12:06:05 am »
I want to make a catacombs that is flooded with water. (Or magma if it doesn't destroy the coffins.)

No one may disturb the rest of the dead. If you need to bury someone, you need to drain it first. I had this idea because I find the thought of completely water-filled corridors full of corpses would be a pretty sweet and unique thing to have.

Not like people need constant access there.

You could actually engineer a catacombs where you could set up a pipeline to flood tombs as needed.  Just build each individual tomb in such a way that the final act upon them is linking them up to the massive pipe of water that flows into the tombs.  Hopefully from above to avoid having to add a slab for your newly deceased witless miner.  And then watch as some witless clod decides to deposit one of the deceased's socks in that tomb and ends up flooding the entire catacomb outer halls with half the river.  Tons of fun, especially if you replace the water with magma.
Ah, that could work too, and would probably be more practical as well...

(I know absolutely nothing about pumping liquids so if I tried this I'd probably kill everyone. Which is just another reason to try it when I stop being lazy.)
