I've seen one of your videos before. I like this video. It's hard to find videos on Dwarf Fortress that focus on one single part of the game. I'd like to see more in the future on other topics.

The Carver cuts a variable size of stone out of the ground.

The block is the size of a pyramid block at least. A cottage size block sounds good too.

The properties of the block would allow it to be smoothed and engraved unlike the brick sized blocks in the game now. They could be mined in like regular stone.

The block is limited by it's weight. It needs a solid foundation to rest on. So you must channel out the soil underneath until you hit a stone to rest on.

After setting up the foundation another block could be placed on top. Perhaps light pollution wouldn't penetrate the block unlike the past above ground buildings keeping the light even if a roof has been built.

Moving the block is tricky. It facilitates the block but isn't part of the suggestion. Any machine works plausible or implausible. A single minecart pulling a block, or a wheelbarrow. Or a new counter weighted quarry lever thing is fine.

Digging invaders may be stopped by putting 1 x 1 blocks as foundation so they would fall on digging invaders. Block can be reused so fort won't become swiss cheese.

In Dwarf therapist there are 3 colors for genders Blue for Male Pink for female and Gray for something else. What's the gray symbol mean?

Do not embark with the df window fullscreen. I was recently just wondering what causes this. It is a TWBT problem since it happens to me even though I use TWBT without Lazy newb pack (However I use the dll built by LNP since I don't have a compiler on my pc), but to enable multilevel view you want to keep it enabled. So just embark with a small window. then you can maximize the window after you see your dwarves on the screen.

How effective of an were-creature extermination could be achieved on an adventure-mode game?

I like the idea of were-creatures but i'd like to exterminate most of them. I read they generate by toppling statues, and I guess other ways so 100% isn't gonna happen.

What are some good strategies? Could I kill the god who cursed the were-creatures to free them or something like that? How can I find info to hunt them? Do were-creatures target players forts? And if so does the amount of were-creatures in the game effect the frequency of attacks or does the game decide it's time for an attack and pulls a chosen were-creature from nearby to attack?

I ask those questions because if number of were-creatures in game wouldn't change the attack rate it's not useful for fort-mode. I like the world I generated but I'd like to help it become were-creature free or as close as I can.

Why won't my scholars and other thinkers in the library leave to do other labors assigned to them if it meets there unmet needs?
Can I convert dwarves to a different religion?
Why won't my military dwarves do any recreation in the tavern if they have a training area assigned to them? (unmet needs due to lack of talking to anyone)
Can dwarves throw parties anymore?

Yes, but a better option is to put them into a militia squad that is equipped with only a weapon and a light weight shield and have that squad off duty with no place to train. You may optionally assign some light weight armor to them as well, but armor will slow them down if not trained in armor use. With a squad you can assign them training facilities from time to time and set them to active training for a while before setting them inactive and removing the facilities to both improve their weapon skill (and chance to actually defend themselves) and satisfy desires for martial arts training. Note that you need to remove the training facilities from the squad or the buggers will start doing "individual training" rather than work once they've built up some skill, so it requires micro management.

Thanks for the better suggestion, this sounds like a great idea.

I don't have excess axes to test this. But if all dwarves are lumberjacks will they keep the axe and defend themselves if attacked? I don't like having my dwarves get bullied when hauling lumber from a cave or something.

Are you sure they didn't already replant the seeds?

Yeah I'm sure, I have a farm for it. And after spinning the pig tails into thread, in z -> kitchen I no longer have pig tail fiber seeds or pig tails. I also get the 'no seeds' option when I inspect my farm to make sure pig tails are enabled.

I embarked with 8 pig tail seeds, Planted, harvested, and spun the fiber into thread. Now I don't have any seeds. I checked Z-> Kitchen and made sure I wasn't brewing them or cooking them. Could you guys let me know what you know about pig tails? I'd like to brew them, but I am unsure how to maintain a constant supply of pig tail seeds.

I have some dwarfs and I want to know if they are safe to release from quarantine. (They were damaged when a werebeast attacked) A full moon has passed. Should I keep them in quarantine longer? I am not sure if it takes a few months for a dwarf to become a werebeast after initial infection. I'd like to put them in the hospital.
