DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your fort?
« on: November 13, 2009, 02:42:19 pm »
Started out in a Sinister Rocky Waste. Things were going well until the summer of the third year. Had a large group of Goblin Ambushers show up, manage to fight them off, but they killed around five of my dwarves. This in turn caused my very first Tantrum Spiral. Around fifteen dwarves started to go into tantrums and that turned into around twenty-five dwarves going into tantrums. Managed to huddle my non-tantrumed dwarves into the main Dining hall until the Tantrum dwarves died of thirst. Right now, I'm just hoping the rest don't go insane from their deaths

Man, I sort of feel bad posting in this thread when the request list is so long and I have no new drawings. OH WELL.  Requests officially closed until I start to catch up again because asking nicely doesn't seem to work. You guys are merciless in your requesting. And I'm going to be sort of busy until the end of the month and I don't want to rush these so brutally that they are complete garbage and I don't get any practice out of them. I want to stick to the regular level of rushing.

Very much so.

I assume by hidden you mean disguised as dwarves, right Org?

And Xogrim, usually I find images like that one annoying, but that one was totally worth it.

General Discussion / Re: The Bay 12 Games Zombie Survival Guide
« on: August 20, 2009, 06:31:57 pm »
Alright, time to show just how nerdy I really am.

In case of Zombies, read the to do list: (Home Survival Addition)
#1: Panic
#2: Identify situation
#3: Locate my .22 rifle and ammo.
#4: Turn on the Bathtub, sink until filled.
#5: Barricade windows and doors from the outside and inside.
#6: Move all supplies to the second floor.
#7: Destroy the stair case.
#8: Setup a survival kit in case in need of speedy escape.
#9: Play Dwarf Fortress 2 until power is turned off.
#10: Gripe after the power goes out.
#11: Take out anger on zombies with .22.
#12: Break out the board games.
#13: Slowly go insane.

In case of Zombies, read to do list: (On the run addition.)
#1: Panic
#2: Gripe
#3: Grab .22 Rifle and ammo; 30-30 and ammo, Machete.
#4: Pack Survival Kit (food, first aid kit, flashlight, etc.)
#5: Walk outside, load the .22, grit my teeth, light a cigarette, say the following, "I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubble gum."
#6: Always bet on Duke.

Did any of you even read the Zombie Survival Guide?

.22 is one of the best guns you can have in case of a zombie attack. They're light, they're ammo is light, they're easy to maintain.

You should also use the gun only in emergencies because of the bang they give off. It attracts zombies to your location.

You also want to avoid people and military/police facilities mainly because of how crowded they are. This is because you'd probably get trampled to death or shot.

Crowbars = God's hand with a hook. At least when surviving a zombie Holocaust.

*Quickly rummages through his 3D folder*

Well, I'm terrible at non-procedural textures, and I haven't really played around with Blender's awesome features much at all, but...

The first one looks to be a Spatha, an Iron Celtic Sword. They were used through the first Millennium intil around 600 A.D. It was pretty much the Father of the Roman Gladius.

The second one seems to be more of a Falchion.

Also, I will say I do like the design of the Longsword. Although the guards are a bit too thin.

Is Cajoes still here?

I think we have a suitable embark site... it's not like you need to actually gen it.

I searched for Cajoes posts on the entire forum, his most recent is this thread seems to have been his last. I hope this can still continue...
Well There's really only three explanations:
A) Hes busy with real life stuff.
B) Hes Drawing the next picture and it's taking awhile.
C) Hes not drawing them because hes playing the game.
