I can only second this, thank you for your efforts!

I made three new pull requests. If you get the build system issues all worked out, maybe you'll find time to merge them additionally.

Hey that's great to hear, thanks for letting me know. I might make some additional pull requests on GitHub to get some Linux/KDE-specific stuff to work. Great project by the way :).

4
Are you still actively working on this? Most Linux distros ship Python 3 by default now and the current PyLNP version that most (Lazy Newb-)packs ship with simply break when clicking the play button, because you haven't made a new release since merging the Python 3 fixes. BTW: passing "universal_newlines = True" to Popen (or run()/check_output() etc.) would probably be more future-proof instead of just trying to decode the stdout with UTF-8, because Python uses "locale.getpreferredencoding()" to determine the likely encoding instead, according to the docs.

Utilities and 3rd Party Applications / Re: PyDwarf 1.1.0: Chalcedony

I'm just stopping by to tell you how cool and impressive your project is. I'm a Python enthusiast myself and have seen your project a few times on the forums and always thought so. I think it's unfortunate that this thread seems relatively inactive, which makes your continued progress and enthusiasm with the project even more impressive. Thanks for contributing really cool tools to Dwarf Fortress (even though I am not actively using them myself)!

6
Could the backend be used to speak to it from other interfaces too? Including, for example, a website with JavaScript? This would open the gate for a generally more user-friendly interface for Dwarf Fortress, playable in the browser.

You might want to set the default keybindings to "Vanilla DF", someone I tried to show the game yesterday got already stuck at the preparing screen because the keybindings for increasing skill proficiency didn't match the default ones. (Why would "=" for increasing proficiency be a good choice?).

Also soundSense now exists twice in the utilities tab.

That's great to know! If at all possible, could you share it and possibly release the finished version (assuming you plan to) when you are done? I'm sure I and many others would greatly appreciate that. Good luck!

9
Is there anyone capable of updating this for the new Dwarf Fortress version? I'd absolutely love to use this, but Spacefox seems to be inactive.

DF General Discussion / Re: Lazy Newb Pack [0.34.11] [V15] Updated GUI!

For the german urists in our midst: this is a very good and up-to-date Let's Play + extremely detailed tutorial which currently spans nearly 150 episodes (he also uses the LazyNewbPack). It would be great if you could add the playlist to the "Video Tutorials and Lets Plays"-section (possibly with some indicator that it is german) -- his Let's Play/Tutorial really deserves more attention :)!

Thanks for the heads up, and I know that, but this is supposed to be a team effort and I'm planning to extend the gallery bit by bit. If you use any of these sets you could just take a screenshot of a part of your fort and follow the instructions in the very first post, that would make things go quicker, as intended.

Why didn't you add this with the template yourself...  >:(. Like this  basically:

Still, thank you!

I added entries for Taffa's and Morgoth's tilesets -- next time please use the template and post these yourself, so I can easily integrate them into the first post.

Apparently you didn't, because I already mentioned that I would do that at some point, making your comment seem somewhat misplaced:
[...] Adding to and updating the wiki at a later date were part of my plans, yes -- but seeing as the forum is far more well-visited than the wiki will ever be, this is IMHO a better place to gather screenshots and links from the crowd. Not everyone actually cares about having a complete wiki or a list of graphics- and tilesets and thus wouldn't even consider updating the wiki; I didn't plan on doing this entirely alone. [...]

It's a wiki, update it yourself.
If at all in your abilities please try to read instead what I have said in the first few posts, thank you.

@Hugo_The_Dwarf: Yes, this is still gonna live, I will update the first post tomorrow. (Also please use the template provided in the first post, don't want to set a bad example!)
