Masterwork DF / Re: Waterwell/Magmawell ?

Damit, who could've known. Already abandoned my previous world, but I will try this out in the next one and tell you if it works. Thanks!

The thing is, no one ever comes and reaction is never considered (A)ctive for that matter. Even if I mark it with "Do the task now!" none of my 50 dwarves ain't do crap about it. Does this reaction consume something? Like blood of the mountains gem or tears of armok gem? Cause it consumed one during the construction and that's it.

Masterwork DF / Waterwell/Magmawell ?
« on: April 13, 2018, 08:16:40 am »
So I've built Waterwell, channelled space around it, and then I'm trying to run the reaction at any direction, but nothing happens. Reaction is still listed, no change. I play with aquifers turned off, might that be the case? And if so, will turning them back on help? Update: I've also tried Magmawell and it doesn't seem to work as well. Rather strange, are those features broken now?

Playing latest MWDF, downloaded from here.

Sure, sorry.

MWDF is v. 1.29
DFhack is v. 0.43.05-r1 (release) on x86_64
DF is v. 43.05 x64

So I'm trying to create logs of wood somewhere on the ground, and using "create-items log chestnut 20" command. Prior to doing so I have cursor positioned onto one of the grass floor tiles above ground. When I hit "Enter", the game and DFHack window is closed instantly, reverting to previous save as if I force-closed it.

I'm using the latest Masterwork DF pack available on this forum and DFHack comes as a part of it. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help.

DF Announcements / Re: Dwarf Fortress 0.31.25 Released
« on: September 21, 2011, 03:54:03 pm »
My dwarves just seem to throw their claimed stuff around. And what about claimed food that lies on the floor and keeps rotting till clouds of miasma. Is there a way to solve that ?

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Map with no ore

By the way new embark screen is so confusing. All these 'deep metal' 'shallow metal'.... how do you find sedimentary layers now? It was so useful befor, when few levels of stone and ore was shown. Like rock salt etc...

I don't like trading in this game. I think caravan is too generous thing. After you started the mass-production of mugs all your problems are solved. My farmers become 'rusty and very rusty' growers cause I buy all plants at caravans. You really don't need loom and all the tricks with giant spiders, cause every year caravan brings you new bins full of thread and cloth for any of your needs (and we dont mention nude dwarwes and uselessness of clothes for now). Same goes to leather... And after 20 years of exporting mugs even the stupidest merchant will start buying them 1 buck for 3 instead of 50 bucks for 1.

I think my civilization is SWARMED with my fortress' mugs... trading should be more real, like in old good space-sims like Elite where prices change from time to time and after few years of trading one mineral price goes down since you filled the market with it. Something like this...

thats why I don't like trading in DF, all I produce is mugs.. thats boring.

DF Gameplay Questions / Map with no ore
« on: March 23, 2011, 06:50:39 pm »
Well, I used dfreveal component of LNP from 31.21 package and found out that almost every embark I did choose one after one contains no ore at all. some gold nuggets and raw adamantine leading straight to demons. Layers and layers of useless rock. Does that happen often?
Maybe I should use higher than Sparse option for minerals when create worlds? Cause DF has so many metals and all other stuff, but all I get is rock-rock-rock, while my useless pieces of nobility demand billon, pewter, nickel and zinc items to be made. ((

I already noticed that if you check baron's bed and table it has two owners now. Very handy : )

DF Gameplay Questions / Baron got married
« on: March 22, 2011, 01:57:36 pm »
Hello there!
I got a baron's consort now, what requirements does she need?

And i got 2 beds in baron's room and 2 tables in his dining room. Can I assign two overlapping rooms from different beds so the couple will live in one room using one dining room and be happy?

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Not dumping at closest dump spot

I think they use closest through walls, as they use closest stone when producing stone items.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Dwarves stopped refusing things
« on: March 17, 2011, 06:12:06 am »
looks like it was involved into burrows somehow..
butchery and refuse pile are both in this burrow but dwarves that in burrow refuse to do anything with this. As soon as I canceled alarm they all started to refuse stuff normally.

I got full refuse pile, I designated another one, it's empty now. I got butchery cluttered of yak refuse, they just ignore it. All orders say theu must refuse stuff. I used to mark refuse as DUMP to get rid of partial skeletons and other useless stuff like bull cartilages and hairs and they used to dump my refure frome the stockpile. Now they stopped. What's wrong??? They still dump items like stone or somethin... I got plenty of idlers, all hauling is on etc..
