The applebucking is a bit terrible actually, lots of bugs with it and it could honestly do with a redesign, but seeming we have fruit trees upcoming in the next df version it's not a priority. The problem is the speed of which a seasoned applebucker would produce apples, I ended up adding the sorting and basketing as a counterbalance. A single apple isn't a meal, you need ten quality apples to make a basket of apples at the sorting station. This is fairly labor intensive work, and if interrupted to hunt for vermin, you might not be able to keep up the food production.
There's also problems with several sorters working together, so apples will not likely be a huge part of any sizable forts food production without extensive use of burrows to prevent cancellation spam as the sorters tend to fight over apples
lol Well, what should be the main food staples? ie the Plump Helmets and Dwarven Ale.

There are barrels with apples in them and my ponies are hunting vermin for food. I even have the quality control station set up and running. What's wrong?

yep, they dig and they CAN eat meat, but you can't tan hides and noone is particularly good at butchering, infact.. they're pretty bad.

I should probably point out: ponies don't have access to underground plants, they should still exist, but you have to get to the cavern layer and harvest them yourself, so complete underground isolation might be hard. Also: several of the ponies industries are based around surface plants.
How am I supposed to supply my marksponies with leather gear?

whoooops, seems dropbox had crashed and hadn't synced my file yet... doh.. should work now
I have an old version of this mod.

Can ponies dig or eat meat? That kinda bugged me about the latest version that I had, so that's why I quit playing entirely.

I prefer my ponies to live basically like dwarves that carry stuff with their mouths and telekinesis.

I get a 404 from the DL link.

Nice! I had been wanted to see someone's imagination of this...abomination...for some time. Although...I wonder if the tentacles would look better if they were Twi-lek style...
Those aren't tentacles, though, they're just 'head-tails'. They can't grasp or anything. Also I imagine they'd be incredibly difficult to lash with if they were on the back of the head.

Started drawing a tentacle pony and partway through I realized his mane & tail were the same style and color as Twilight Sparkle's.

Trees don't graze, no. You can remove animals from cages by assigning them to a pasture, they'll have a cage symbol next to their name in the pasture menu. This will be done by any pony, pen/pasture large animal isn't toggleable.

Shadowbolts have a bite attack that sucks blood, but that's about it. When the new DF update hits I'll have to see about adding more, like if it's possible to have creatures suck blood from livestock. Awesome picture, that really looks great. I checked out your deviantart, those chibi ponies are adorable.
Ah, thanks. I had been playing an older version of this mod and just upgraded. I'm digging the fruit trees. Also it seems like ponies can't carry multiple objects in their mouths anymore, which was kind of funny to see a pony with a crutch, shield, and crossbow in it's mouth. "Gentlecolts..."

Drew a random Shadowbolt from arena. It says they're vampiric, but are their diets really different? Also, when I buy caged trees how do I get them out? Do they graze? I guess I may have not had a pony with animal caretaking atm and that's why that tree sat in a cage.

Ah, question. Which chartreuse? There's a traditional one which is yellowish, and there's a newer one which is green.

diomedian colour schemes

I don't know what colors those are. I tried searching, but nothing useful comes up.

Hey Knarfle, could you perhaps do random pictures of some of the wierder looking pony civs, like diomedians, rainbow, slippy, cave, honey-badger or tentacle ponies?
Would be nice to have a visual reference of what they roughly look like.
Sure, if you don't mind helping me by describing them.

The entrance of my fort "Wordswoods". A desert fortress built mostly out of glass. The windmills are for a mist generator that draws from the saltwater aquifer. The obelisks...well, they're just for style.

Did Rocko, your lead miner.

When I started up your game the first thing I saw was a dead pony on a wall. What the hay, man? Also, ponies with tusks? Anyways, it's slow going so you should probably let me know which ponies you want prioritized (e.g. nobles or military).
