Balmora, no doubt.  Vivec city had more to do, but Balmora always felt like home.

StarQuest is, in my opinion, a pretty good MMO.  The most engaging thing is that the ship needs players in every role (imagine the star trek deck it is a lot like that).  Every console on the bridge is fun to play and suiting up to land on a planet is pretty awesome as well.  The only problem is that there are too few players.

Hey, we Japanese would be very happy to ally with you. I have over 4 million wood and concrete, so I'm up for trade.
RL fact: I speak some Japanese, baka no kaba.

Hey Geen, what is your in-game name, mine is the same as here.  I also serve the Emperor.

Ok this game looks like it will be pretty awesome actually.

I have joined up in Japan, and Japan looks like it has a lot of potential.  Japanese Empire includes Mainland Japan, Korea, and several pacific islands.

One of the great deals is that nearly every province in Japan and Korea has all the vital biome hexes including mountains, plains, and jungles.  Beat the England.

Additionally any invasion of the mainland will be very difficult, however a strong Japanese navy would make things interesting.

Japan also requires fewer players to activate than China.  Currently about 10 players including myself.

Long live the Emperor!  BANZAI!

Life Advice / Re: Dealing with depression
« on: October 18, 2011, 12:35:30 am »
I support the previous comments.

I went through the same thing about the time I was finishing college.  I remember when my Dad told me when I was a teenager that I would grow out of games as I got older.  I thought he was crazy, but I don't think that anymore.  Don't get me wrong I still play occasionally, but not anywhere near as much as I once did.  Games are one of my hobbies now, not the only one.

If you find yourself staring at the screen thinking: "what am I accomplishing with this," then you are like me.  The day I stopped spending hours a day playing games was the day I started doing all the things I thought I couldn't do. (sounds like a self help group line, but it is true.)  Some people balance it out just fine, but I had to quit playing games for awhile to get the balance right.  Now I don't need to scratch the game itch like I used to.

My recommendation:  Try to go without video games for one month.  Pick something like a language, sport, or hobby and get into it.  You don't need to stop forever, you just need perspective on why you play and what makes you feel worthwhile.

Tottaly thought the thread title said "Catsploitation" and I was excited to hear about ways to use and abuse cats and kittens to your advantage...  :(

DF Gameplay Questions / New lover?
« on: August 16, 2010, 04:07:17 pm »
I know that married dwarves never remarry even if their spouse dies.  However do they ever pick a new lover if their old lover dies?

I am playing a world with a dead dwarf civ and all but 4 of my dwarves died off during the first winter.  All that remains are 3 females and one male.  I want to repopulate but he has a lover that is dead.  It has been a few years of hanging around in the dinning hall without any social progress.  Anybody know if they are doomed like the panda or if they will mate to save the species?

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: The DF2010 Little Questions Thread

So I have two questions:

1) Will this Baron ever meet the liason?

2) If no, what will I miss? I don't really care about import/export agreements, but it would be kinda nice to be a Count.

1) Probably not unless you destroy his bed or re-injure him with a cave-in or such.

2) As long as you can still provide lots of trade income to the convoy then you shouldn't have a problem getting the to the Count.  At least that is my understanding of how it used to be.  The new version has some strange quirks about the requirements to get nobles.

the one bug that is really annoying me right now is that it's still impossible to get a dungeon master. i have 93 monkeys of various types, just waiting to be trained in the art of vicious combat.

Are you sure this is bug related?  There are some new requirements for getting nobles, have you met them all?
