Tell Bulk to forget about any traveling for today; he should make up for his sleight last night and teach us just why it is his name is "Bulk."

Or... merchant, I guess. Who knows the fuck some Chaos smuggler'll do and we've already killed our dad and let two Inquisition bitches see us snap their superior in two before running off. Best to lay low.

But first - nnnf.

Remember your old british school chum and Reasure the good guard that the Duke is completely fine but is simply overcome by the kings death. Even the best of us become emotional at times old chap. Cheerio!

This. Or just the "Duke is overcome by the King's death" bit should said chum's advice/learned ability be unhelpful/detrimental to our efforts to assuage the guard.

Also, I support the fake investigation bit, but let's try and leave the Duke's domain ASAP and just hope we can deceive the men he's given us long enough to frame someone and/or they all die due to adventure-related shenanigans.

No, say that we are chasing after the assassin to avenge our father's death, and we believe the amazon may be in this very city right now. are hot on the trail of the amazon. We need men and gear and horses to properly pursue her.

(Changed it, because, while what we just did and what we would have done was and would be very Chaotic, it wouldn't be very Good, since we already caused one seemingly innocent man to die, and we might cause many more deaths of Good people by simply stirring up panic. This new action will allow us to lead a wild goose chase and do whatever the flip we want on the Duke's dime.)

This, but as a proper cover story for why we, the Crown Prince, have come to visit on our own and in a disheveled state, explain that the Amazonian assassins also kidnapped us for later negotiations with our kingdom and we only recently managed to escape them and made way for the Duke's lands.

"It is I, uncle, the Crown Prince! I bring you dire news, the king has been murdered by an Amazonian Assassin!"

Use disturb as you say the last two words, instilling hatred and fear of amazons in him.

More work needs done on laying a foundation. Gathering and/or cultivating equipment and ingredients, getting a feel for the location/locals, and doing whatever’s needed to level-up (studying books more and pratice, practice, practice?) seem like the priorities.

Based on that, I guess I’m for this mold idea (though I’m not sure exactly how useful mold is), and we should look into what other sort of stuff we might make “homegrown.” Rats, at least, we could experiment on. Crude ratborgs, maybe? Or testing out different concoctions on them to hone our Chemistry. Who knows, maybe we could groom a horde of rat suicide bombers! ;D

Also, we should try and get that kid Johnny Jacob J-Dizzle working for us. We could use him to do things like distract that warehouse guard, plus act as a gofer/courier. Looking into other people we might exploit would be smart, too.

And what's this business about getting jobs and selling stuff and starting up websites?? Are you mad scientists or are you mice?!
