says it's a tileset but you've added a bunch of stupid mod shit that really doesn't belong in a graphics pack, why? glowshrooms? dyes? carpet? decorations? Don't want any of that garbage.

If i can get joyous wilds adjacent to terrifying i go for that - something about killing a unicorn on one side of the map and dropping it on the other side to be animated to terrorize incoming elves amuses me.

Barring that i like intersections of as many biomes as possible - i've gotten 4 ONCE, but 3 is common enough that you can find it easily.

All i did was fix the stairs up and offer to do any people wanted. Any custom tilesets i make by slapping together things i like i don't release.

If anyone wants i've leveled up many times as a pixel artist (game i'm developing) so i can send out some updates. Better yet, post stairs you want me to turn into non-shitty uppy-downy stairs and i will post the raw png image here for you to use.

I don't know how to override the stair graphics using the new tech though, i'll have to look into it. Does it require TWBT?

I've been working on making a tileset that suits my tastes mostly by ripping things i like out of other tilesets. That works fine until i get to the bit where i want to add new tiles of my own. I try to grab a shade of grey from another tile and it's.. dark grey. Same as any other lighter shade. Obviously it's using some sort of transparency mask but when i check the color in photoshop it's just the grey. and no other alpha blending info or anything to that effect.

For that matter, i notice all of the tilesets have a transparent background to them which, once again, i cannot get the transparency numbers for.

What gives? What am i doing wrong?

can someone get me a terrifying embark right next to a really GOOD area as far as savagery? like joyous wilds or whatever it's called. It's so funny when zombie unicorns are running around. Plus it's a challenge and stuff.

Oh yes, the evil biome should make undead. the good biome should.. who cares?

Bonus if there's flux, a magma pipe, iron, gold, platinum, sand, clay... yes i want it all. Right on the edge of good vs evil.
Some questions regarding this.. when you say "should make undead" do you mean re-animation, that is, when something dies, it should become undead, or do you mean when creatures spawn on that biome, they should be Corpses, or do you mean if anything steps onto the biome, it immediately becomes undead?  (or some/all of the above?)

The first one. I had a biome where anything that died on it became undead. It was great fun. And by fun i mean a zombie muskox killed all 7 of my dwarves. But yeh.... joyous wilds with zombies on the other side would be GREAT :D Don't care if it's a pocket world or whatever.

ok this actually didn't work. thoughts? I changed it in region1's raw folders but when i load the game up the microcline still mocks me with its cyan color.

ok, i confess. I hate the color of the false adamantite. Microcline can also be green irl so i swap the 7 blue with 7 green and make it green. Easier on the eyes too, still realistic (yes, realism is important to me even with dwarven physics in the game.

how do i mod the save so existing layers change color? I've modded the raws, but.. i have save i like. please help!

the water / sand globs are from the phoebus tileset. I can only take credit for the stairs here. I don't have anything in higher definition, though i can supply the psd for this image if you want.

I made this because i hated the X's for stairs. so here you go, use if you like. It's just the X, the rest was made by phoebus' tileset generator.

DF Modding / Question about walls in tilesets

I'm trying to figure out how to make my own walls for a tileset - i've noticed the graphics for engraved and non-engraved walls use the same tile. My question is - what quality about the engrave graphics makes them disappear and be 'normal' walls? Is it transparency or something else? If someone could explain the theories behind creating wall graphics i'd greatly appreciate it, and i'd release my finished product to the community :)
