the reason I only bought one is that i only had enough items to buy one... and I have three around my map, planning to tame one of them through excessive cage traps.

epic fights ensue... dwarves return to normal, just the two of them... and voila legendary fighting duo... dont know where the kids fit into the story though

Is one of them dead with a few elves stuck on its tusks?

unfortunately no, but there are some ashes at the bottom of my moat that should be lable'ed "Elf diplomat"

and I dont think I can train war animals, because I do not have a Dungeon master.

and in response to the pit idea, I had trouble using pits before, was telling me that the space was two small, dug out a 3x3 with up ramps above and channeled it to open space so it was a legitimate pit in the ground designated, and all my animals were too big for the pit... even kittens, (finding them useless... well my expidition leader got a happy thought from that meal) :D

So an elven caravan rolls into my humble abode of simmering magma and half built pumps stacks... with two caged elephants, So I purchased one of these large semi-gentle animals in a cage, I was wondering how I go about removing them from the cage and putting them to use... for farming and... Clown smashing.

I feel your pain. I get waves of 6 that make me mad... so what I do is put them in a squad... said squad kills everything I can put them up against... the survivors join the fortress... the others rot in what ever god forsaken area they had to fight in.

alrighty, so Im making my FIRST EVER!!! pump stack... and I have to power it some how. so I decide hey! lets try a perpetual motion scheme!

well I pull it off the wiki trying to figure out a little of it through research and I get it so my pump is built and I build one of the water wheels then BLAM! the entire room floods... luckily I had for some reason built a door closing this section off from the rest of the world!


i head fed the room from a river if that makes any difference, and there was a gear assembly over the channel infront of the light side of the pump (pump isnt running yet)

the other thing is that the river is 1 z-level BELOW the entire operation. Do waterwheels mess with water pressure? because last time I researched it water cant go up z levels with out pumps interference...

if I see what I think I do... you have 2 floodgates?

I would make a second lever to the floodgate that is closed and then use it to open up that one floodgate...

then use first lever to close both... do as fast as you can or you'll have a lot of magma left over

Take the base picture for dwarves from the game itself... find out pixelation for them...

you could also include the beard... I think it would be cool if the beard was underground with a HUGE pit infront of it with the tongue extending out over it.

I feel like you can easily figure that out on your own from there. doesnt take any skill in drawing to take square pixels and make them 50x bigger.

okay, so I'm working on my first fractural room design right now.

I built it around my rampwell though, and 2 of the arms have to come out of the walls that the ramps connect to. I was wondering if a dwarf has to walk across a ramp does it take more steps? or is it the same I.E do they have to go down the ramp to -1 z-level or do they just walk across?

The other reason I was wondering this is that I am trying to find out which is more effective over all... a stairwell or a rampwell
