Play With Your Buddies / Re: Civilization IV anyone?

I'd love to play vanilla BTS, have we actually got anything organised yet? I'm +9.5 here but fairly available.

I always loved the iTunes EULA myself

'You also agree that you will not use these products for any purposes prohibited by United States law, including, without limitation, the development, design, manufacture or production of nuclear, missiles, or chemical or biological weapons.,

You'll find that at the bottom of section 'g' for anyone interested

Dungeon Raid is the most fun I've had with my Ipod, it's sort of like a dungeon crawler version of bejeweled, I guess?

Play With Your Buddies / Re: Europa Universalis III Multiplayer
« on: May 26, 2011, 06:58:02 pm »
I've played in multiplayer games on other forums so it's certainly not impossible, the hardest bit is getting everyone online at the same time.

If it isn't possible a succession game sounds like a pretty great idea too.

Play With Your Buddies / Europa Universalis III Multiplayer
« on: May 26, 2011, 07:24:57 am »
Would anyone be interested in setting up a multiplayer game of EUIII? We would be using the latest version of Divine Wind (May 17) or possibly miscmods if everyone agrees on it.

I understand it's a tough thing to organise, time-zones particularly, but I'm happy to host and keep the thread updated if a suitable amount of people would like to join.

If you want to join (by no means an obligation at this point) letting me know your time-zone and times you consistently have available each week or so would be amazing.

I actually just recently played this again with a few friends,  and oh how I missed 4 hour games where nobody does anything but turtle and build up 200 strong blocks of infantry behind quadruple walled (+bombard towered) choke-points.

Let's go 174!

Back on the main subject (As much as I love all things flaming death) In South Australia they give us 10c for every aluminium can/ plastic bottle we recycle, it's pretty awesome and the streets look really clean.

Milan controls genoa at game start?  I must have missed that part of history.
I must have missed the part where 60% of Europe is largely unpopulated and ruled over by barbarians during 1200.

I know you've probably tried, but can you boot in safe mode and acess the net or a flash drive from that?

I highly recommend malware bytes (it's free too) for just cleaning up your computer, it not really an anti virus though.

ZoneAlarm has proved to be a useful antivirus for me, perhaps look into that later, defiantly run MB first though.

That...would make sense, yes.

Sorry.

That, plus a new motherboard that supports the cpu, should run me about $500-$520 depending on how cheap I can get them from shady back-alley hardware dealerships. Thanks all for the speedy replies and whatnot. =D
$500-$520! What sort of motherboard are you getting?

I paid $229(AUD) for my G-B X58A-UD3R, and parts aren't cheap in Australia. (http://www.msy.com.au/)

You should never be paying that much unless your buying from some silly chain store like Harvey Norman. (never, ever do this) look around for somewhere that sells parts at reasonable prices, or even order from the net.

The computer I recently put together is using an I7-950, That was probably a lot of overkill, no game at the moment is going to use that many cores.

I really would not have noticed any difference if I had gotten a higher end I5 instead. (I do like the 1366pin motherboards though, probably the reason I'm still happy with my decision)

Life Advice / Re: Steam is giving me problems...
« on: March 09, 2011, 09:15:08 pm »
I've had then problem myself, started mainly with source games, eventually I saw it it in fallout 3 too.

Mind mentioning your graphics card?

It's possible that integrated chipset just doesn't play well with Source.
I was actually using an 8800GTX at the time, but the problems I had were identical. I had to use a 7300 for a horrifyingly long time.

How long have you been playing normally before this?
