I just won the clumsiest, most awkward, and most stressful game I've ever done.  That Octopode should have died at least ten times.  I still don't know how that whole thing when down.  Alright, I've got to get some sleep.  That little f***er was resilient, but man did he give me fits!

I like that idea.  Good luck with the shoals.  Vault:4 and 5 are trying to send me message.  That message is, "leave the vaults now!"  on those two levels alone I've run into Mara, Borris, Mennas, Margery, and Frederick.  I took care of Margery and Frederick, but the others I had to flee.  Back to the dungeon for me, at least until I get some better resistance and destructive spells.  I'm still not touching Mennas with this character, and I'd love to avoid Borris for obvious reasons.

Ha.  That's useful.  I recently had a MiFi following TSO and wearing gold dragon armour that got 4 manuals of stealth in the same game.  Xom was having a good laugh at me there I'm sure.

So, I've got a OpSt going right now that's gotten 2 runes and is working his way through Vault.  So far he's survived due partially to cautious play, but largely through the use of chei tricks and a good bit of luck in some instances.  He's still real squishy, but his EV is decent, and some nice poison spells and and a bit of summoning has kept the enemies at bay so far.  However, I need advice for entering Vault:8.  I've only tried with a squishy character once so far, and he didn't fare so well.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Ugh.  There's nothing quite like going down in the middle of what should be a 15 runer.  It was definitely stupid of me to get myself into a vulnerable situation, but I've never seen hell sentinels spam hellfire quite that hard.  I expect that from hellions but, well, now I guess I'll expect it from sentinels too, haha.

Alright, I've seen two equally hilarious things in the Spider's Nest this tournament.  First, I saw an orb spider's orb miss me, then circle back around and blow him up.  Next, an orb spider missed me and then blew up the other orb spider on the screen.  Good times.

Man, I swear about 75% of my lvl 13+ deaths come at the hands, or rocks, of stone giants.  I really hate those things.  They should be renamed dream crushers, since they kill you right around the time you start to feel like you've got a real good game going.

Man, I really must keep my playing sessions down to smaller periods of time.  I always get a little loopy after playing a while.  I was in the process of clearing D:27, when I happened upon a draconian caller on an island (that's a dirty trick if you ask me).  I had to tele away, and I wound up in the open between a stone giant and a squad of yaktaurs that must've all spawned into the area after I cleared it.  I was out of blink scrolls and tried vainly to fight my way out.

I remembered after I died that I only had one rune, and I had no reason to be going after the draconian in the first place.  I could've cleared out the shoals quite easily, and come out stronger afterwards.  Oh well.  I guess I just don't have the mental endurance to streak wins together.

You're on my list for the Bone Carvers namad.  Did you make sure to use my DCSS name (flord) and not my Bay12 name in your RC file?  Either way it takes a few hours for teams to refresh I believe.

Got my first W for the tourney last night.  I don't know if I'm ever going to do a HoPr the legit way again though.  I'll probably be in the running for longest duration for a win in the entire tournament with that one.  It was somewhat satisfying to bring the surviving members of my orcish retainer to the exit with me though.



The regular orc I picked up during the ascension of course. 

I've got a decent MiFi in the works, so maybe after work today I can try to go for my first ever streak.  I picked up crystal armour on D:2.  Can't squander that kind of luck.
