Your military dwarves went insane? I thought "doesn't care about anything anymore" or whatever the equivalent is in the new thought system (unless there isn't one? Haven't played latest version) stopped this?

Yay more problems from me

So a dwarf who was weak is training at the weight bench and gets unbelievably strong. Some time later (on a scale of weeks, not years) said dwarf goes back to being weak. Any idea what's going on?

Update: the dwarf's physical attributes seem to be resetting randomly (mid-training included). Also, the outpost liasion is running in circles from wolves across the moat :L

One of my dwarves is wearing a bloodsteel breastplate with the following runes:
bronze (no pain)
copper (no nausea)
wolfram (no stun)
mithril (no exert)
chrome (nosleep)
cobalt (underwater breathing)
titanium (no paralysis)

She ended up with a fractured thigh after a fight plus some bruises and there's no mention of pain, so I think the bronze rune is working. This is her first time on the surface and there's the unhappy thought of being nauseated by the sun but no actual nausea/vomiting so I think the copper is working properly.

She still got stunned when colliding with enemies/objects and is currently listed as tired, am I misunderstanding what the wolfram and mithril runes do or are they just not working due to a bug?

Something similar just happened to me, except with barony instead of monarchy. Which is kinda weird, considering my fort already had a baron.

My migrant icemage (I didn't have any magic stuff set up yet, and have never done the magic stuff before) just froze to death after doing a bunch of icemage stuff, is this intended?

It comes down to the fact that I don't enjoy eve's combat. In the end, it feels like generic mmo-style combat with a little added depth in the form of transversals/distances.
Honestly, I don't think you ever experienced EVE's combat outside of missions and PvE stuff, the excitement's in the PvP. EVE's PvE is the boring stuff you have to go through to fund your PvP fun.

I respect your decision to quit though, been considering it myself.
Personally, I believe an important part of a game is how interesting it makes working to your goals to be. So having to go through boring stuff to get to the "fun" is already a minus, the path should be enjoyable in its own right. Especially if they're charging you for it.

The fun (well, I'd call it more engaging than fun, whatever ^^) in eve's combat is knowing that what you're fighting for means something. You feel like something is actually at stake, and you can't just try again if you screw up. You also know that the other guy feels that way. I know this feeling from other games (and competition in general), and yeah, it's quite enjoyable. However, when it comes down to it, the core combat mechanics are boring to me. And considering the number of other games that can provide this rush, I'm happier choosing the ones that I love the core mechanics of (and don't have to subscribe to, but I really wouldn't mind if I felt it was worth it).

I'm playing a lot of warframe lately. It's a nice change of pace from the pvp games I tend to play, and the developers are quite transparent about things, which is always a plus. Also, space ninjas.

So.. Bye.

I'm sorry, this game just isn't fun for me. My subscription recently expired, and I don't think I'll renew it. I love the whole idea of a sandbox where your actions matter, but in the end Eve's core (non-meta) gameplay mechanics feel terrible. At its core, Eve is neither fun nor engaging for me. Actual activities (mission running, mining, playing the market) aren't particularly entertaining, so why am I doing them? It doesn't get better. I'd rather play a game that I enjoyed every minute of than one where I'm working towards a vague end goal that I'm not even sure will be particularly rewarding.

Once the whole "awesome, space sandbox" feel wears off, all that's left to me is how flawed the mechanics feel. It's a huge time sink that barely returns the satisfaction to keep you playing, and charges for it. It's not a long-term goal that I dislike, it's that reaching this goal isn't fun. It's not particularly engaging in other ways either.

Meh. o7

How interested would you guys be in joining a wormhole alliance, without being required to live in wormhole space?

I think the general consensus is that we do want to live in wormhole space, we're just not ready yet.

Still, sounds cool.

General reminder for the Summer skill change, CCP is in Iceland. Their summer starts in April, not June like it does for some of us.

We don't know yet exactly when during summer the changes will arrive, but those planning to complete skill training plans before the changes might potentially have as few as 32 days to finish it. Some skills, like Battlecruisers and Destroyers, will be duplicated to racials even with partial training. For example, if you're only 50% to BC 5, you'll get 50% to each racial Battlecruiser skill when the change happens. Incomplete training is not a total loss. For some changes though, like injecting Command Ships skill to avoid the additional 40 days of training prerequisites being added, it is necessary to reach training targets to get any benefit from them.

Due diligence is advised.
Are we sure that they'll release it at the start of summer, though? Even though their summer starts earlier, the update may come mid or late summer, right?

Sorry for suggesting that we murder Anja :c

I think the point is why should we have to set everything up so we track every member like big brother? We're more like a community in the corp than a business and we should be able to trust each over enough just to leave stuff around the place and not have to worry that it's going to be stolen. There is also under 30 of us ! So it's not like we are a huge corp.
If we really are a community and can trust each other, what's wrong with being able to track every action in our shared hangar?

Plus, we don't have high standards for admittance. Yes you have to be a regular bay12er, but this does not guarantee that you are not a member of any other group that may or may not be willing to steal from us. We want to minimize any damage a potential traitor can do. In a game like eve, we can't pretend that these people don't exist.

I just started playing a few days ago, and I'm wondering if I could join you guys? So far I'm doing missions and learning the basics. I'm not entirely sure what role I'd like to play yet, but in combat I'd prefer using rail guns ^^
