Either it wasn't an artifact or it got deconstructed.Build it in a trap corridor that you wont be flooding with magma, preferably one that gets high traffic during cleanups and stuff. Little happy landmine for your haulers
why no magma!?
i heard artifacts are indestructible, so flooding it with magma shouldnt be a problem, unless, you have another reason to not suggest magmaflooding.
Are you certain? I'm 90% positive I lost an artifact floodgate to magma once - though it may simply have deconstructed and gotten washed away.
A candy shield? worst idea ever. That'd make shieldbashing useless. One of my speardwarves just punched a clown's head off. If he lives he shall be given an adamantine room, in honor of this achievement.
ugh this digust mi dorfself - why make a room he oughta be too busy to appreciate when he could be in adamatium armor, with adamatium shield and spear :O
Highwood suggest wood puns, or we willow run outta rock ones soon, which would be a pain in the ash. What the fuck are you, an elf?
Yeah, no. Flame demons are hotter than magma. They're actually plasma. Adamantium burial chamber now. Before you get too excited, was it liquid/gaseous?
It was !!FIRE!!
So gas.
But it was still !!FIRE!!
Clowns are nice. I would remove their trap avoid tag and just capture a few in traps, maybe build a nice arena for all your Urist McIdiots to congregate and look at the shiny demons while the Urist McUsefuls close the doors behind them...Those are all of them.
Soapmakers do something useful- soap prevents infections, after all. Punish the fish dissectors. Lyemakers are safe too, need lye for soap.soap maker not responsible blah blah
What? They're ALWAYS responsible if something bad happened...it's not like I'm going to punish my legendary armorsmith or something
One approach that's been used with modders is to use a custom workshop+reaction+material to create an object made of a material that burns at room temperature. Search the Modding forum for the "bonfire mod" for more information.Do it BEFORE worldgen?I've heard about thermonuclear catsplosions, when folks set cat's HOMOTHERM to 10x magma temperature, and KABOOM.That doesn't work anymore - it actually didn't even work in 40d, since each creature remembered its HOMEOTHERM and thus wasn't affected when you edited the raws.
