All dwarves have a 25% penalty to skill learning, which is to say that they're halfway between normal skill gain rates and being slowlearners. That said, if your dwarf belongs to a caste that emphasizes learning certain skills, for example, a dwarf of Anvil emphasizes the following skills: Mining, Stoneworking tree, Smithing tree, Architecture, he has a 25% bonus to skill rates for those skills.

In short, you assigned a non-dwarf of Anvil to do stoneworking.

I have a couple of questions:

Where did the rock beds (rock + cloth) go? :/ Will the Furniture Workshop come back?
What can you do with a Chapter House? I can build it but there are no tasks to set.
Why do all dwarfs have a penalty to masonry?

I am not sure whether it's a bug with Genesis or Dwarf Therapist 20.4 but the caste tag seems to disappear after playing for some time and won't reappear even if I restart both.

Other than that it's still a great mod and thanks for the Pheobus version.

Is anybody else getting a weird dwarf-caste distribution?
I've got:

6 Stone
23 Jade
5 Clay
1 Steel
26 Shroom
24 Obsidian
1 Dark
1 Deep

Well, I don't know how all the castes are weighted, but it's not unusual to have stuff like that.

For stone the description says they should be the most frequent.
In previous versions of Genesis that is what I encountered so I find this a bit weird.

The downside of digtype is that it also digs out stuff on z-levels where rooms have already been designated.
Did I overlook an option to make it dig only on the current z-level?
If not, it would be nice to have such an option or an option to designate all ore on the current z-level.

How do you locate someone in the dungeons/sewers?
I have moved into the right tile, I believe, as it says "TSK ***", but I can't find my target, which is extremely frustrating as the dungeons are extremely complex and you can walk around for ages.

I have an intel core i7 920 overclocked to 3.2ghz (originally at 2.67).
6 gigs high end gaming ram (it's been awhile...corsair I think)
I also built my rig myself about two years ago. Just my heatsinks and chip fans are the size of a football.

I have a decade old (in game that is) fort with 209 dwarves and everything else standard. I pasture all my animals save a few cats for vermin patrol.

I'm averaging 40fps. I want to pull my hair our that my comp can handle Skyrim (granted, I also have a top of the line video card, which DF doesn't even use I don't think) but can't get at least 100fps at this stage of my fortress.

Is the solution just waiting for better computers, or is there some way the code can be optimized to run better? What's the fun of turning off weather, water, embarking on 2x2, etc. I really want to embark on like 3x5 (perfect to zoom out with on a widescreen monitor) but I can only imagine how slow that would be. Sigh.

You could try to enable VBO graphics mode, that gave me a huge boost with my E6700 and HD5770.

Besides, can siegers riding cave swallows actually path to your fort when flying is the only possible way? Cause it never seems to happen that they fly over my walls.
But enemies riding toads take a dive and kill their riders.

Will there be a new version with the phoebus tileset?
Whenever I try to change from Ironhands to phoebus I can only generate maps that have aquifer all over them.
