Hiya.

First of all: the pack is great, can't do without it.

Lately I am suffering from an issue though: i get consistently more dwarves migrated in, even after reaching the cap. Is this a known issue?
Does it have to do with DF itself, or can't change something in the init files the LNP way.....?

Are you using burrows? And double-check if your milkable creatures are female.


Soooooooooo stupid of me. There's only young animals and male adults around.

My dwarfs are not milking creatures.

I have some milkable creatures in surface pens, i got buckets, i got a dwarf with the milking labor, but the dwarfs keep telling me there's 'no suitbale creature' to milk.

Is there a maximum distance from the milkable creature to the farmer's workshop in which animals can be milked?

Well it was a kobold after all. Happened to run into the one and only armed dwarf outside the fortress on his way home (minerdwarf armed with a pick). It was over fast for the kobold.

Still begs the question: how did he pass my gard dogs at the entrance? Arent thieves always discovered when they are in the tile next to a dog?

So, back to DF after a while.

My first caravan arrived and i get announcements that items (in the Trade depot, from the Caravan) are stolen.

Does this mean a Kobold thieve is inside? I got two guarddogs at the entrance so a Thieve HAS to pass them and be discovered.

This leaves me the question: are my own dwarves stealing and if so, how do i prevent that from happening (or even better) find out who did it and get the dwarf judical system running :)

... so I want to slow down the game when someone/something/somedwarf starts fighting. Is this possible?

I like to first set up my fortress and after conscripting, arming and training my first squad I tend to start hunting whatever evils lie beneath in caverns (resulting in FUN). However, fights are over in a blink of an eye resulting in creatures killed or multiple dwarven bodybags almost out of nowehere.

It would be nice to have some way of seeing line after line of text appear in the report screen so I can cheer on my dwarves or watch in horror as they get ripped to pieces.

ANyone has a hint or tip how to enjoy fights more?

Oh, dang. Didn't read the wiki well enough. Should have build a craftdwarf's workshop.

Hi there.

Just had a dwarf going into a secretive mood. According to the wiki, the dwarf should claim a workshop and then start to make demands.

Thing is,he withdrew outside of the fort and.....nothing.

He didn't claim a workshop, nor did I get a hint what worshop I should build if not yet available.
The dwarf was listed as a brewer so i build another still. Nothing happened.

Eventually he went stark raving mad and died of thirst.


Did I miss anything? Or: how do i know what Workshop the dwarf in a secretive mood wants?
