I wonder what inspired Ùshrir to make this. I really have to go and check this out in adventure mode.
I don't know what sullen means but i wouldn't want to eat that cheese anyway.   :D

I build a three tile long hallway to the stockpile and put a door in both ends, like an airlock. Works perfectly.

If you mason is taking a break outside, you got your workshops on the other side of the river and have a bunch of limestones lying about around the river you get this. Your mason will grab the closest stone when he starts moving towards the workshop, in this case it will probably be a limestone if you got all your marble and moonstone by your workshops (on the other side of the river).

Did you have any rough green glass when he stopped? You say you made another clear glass but he might have picked up the green glass instead of another gem and then searching for another green glass for his green glass request.

DF Bug Reports / Crash to blue screen

This could be an operative system thing, but I've only encountered it with Dwarf Fortress.

It seems like a random happening, every once and then DF crashes to the blue screen of death giving an error message "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and a bunch of hex numbers, don't know huw much information you can get out of it but I'll post them anyway:

The errorlog in DF doesn't say a word about it.

If this isn't something that can be fixed in DF, can someone give me an idea what to do about it?

Excuse me if I'm slow, but where do you post when the next game will be?
Anyway, I'm going away for about 10 hours now, so if it's today I won't make it.

I have no problem with the die rolls, I'm very familiar with the concept from computer games. It's the in-character part that could need a polish, but I don't know if I'm bad at it as I never tried before.

Hmm, I don't think that sunday's a very good day for me, I'm usually (always?) away then. You don't have to change to another day just for me, whatever is good for most of you is best.
I also work evenings and weekends (as well as days) on a random basis so I will have a hard time to join, but maybe I could play a character that gets separated from the group a lot   :D

Ideally, aim for any day except sunday, I tend to stay up late so that shouldn't be a problem.

I'm in GMT+1 but that doesn't really matter, I'll roll to see if I'm awake.

DF General Discussion / Mazes

My imagination sprung and I started thinking about how cool it would be to have a maze between your entrance and your fort as a defense against outsiders. As it is now everyone finds the quickest way through any tunnel systems but I imagine that maybe in the future you can have the goblins entering the maze, in every intersection they pause for a while and blink '?', make up their mind and then continue strolling towards, perhaps, the huge hidden razor disc. The dwarves will know which way is the right way (they follow the designated traffic areas) so they don't stray away into the pit traps, spiked balls, and any other traps that lurk in the depths of the maze.

It could also be used in personal recreational purposes, put a cage with the goblin king deep, deep inside a huge maze and whatch him try to find his way out  while slowly starving to death.  :p

The pathfinding would probably require an overhaul, but I think it would be neat.
