I mean, it's rather normal for people to design creatures with a "common" name like Seraph but make them look much different to put their spin on it. I was moreso inspired by the original depictions in the Bible where angels were incredibly bizarre, rather than the more common "winged humanoid" look.
That's kind of what I meant.  They've got already established bizarre looks, and you gave them something else, and that just kind of seems odd to me.

Using the terms Seraphim, Cherub/Cherubim, and Ophanim, angles with fairly odd descriptions, seems like a weird choice if you're just going to make up a different look for them.

The scrap forge is telling me that I don't have any fuel to build hand tools.  Does charcoal not work, and if not, then how to I get fuel?

I would expect it to have a kind of "meaty" taste (strong "Umami" flavor.)
The word savoury has existed since the middle ages.

I don't really like the idea of major technological development byond what the game has, but the idea of a world starting with less development and working up to the point we're at now could be interesting.

If there is floor fungus in the caverns, dig out a sizeable patch of clay/soil underground.  Floor fungus will spread there, and you can use it as a pen to keep grazing animals in your fort and away from invaders.

I am incredibly confused and embaressed due to the fact that I had no idea that was in the vanilla game.  Thanks for your help.

But how do I hook up the power source to the workshop?  That's what I'm confused on.  I get that it has to do with axles and gearboxes, but I can't figure out where to place them in relation to the windmill, and I don't think there's any instruction for that anywhere.

Not at my computer right now, but if I recall that only ex xp lains the basic concept.  I know where I need to send the power, but not how to do it.  I can't get power into the axles.

I have absolutely no idea how to transfer power from my windmill to my machine shop.

Is it considered poor form for modders to gut abandoned projects?  If not, there is at least one abandoned lovecraft mod that may have some resources you might be interested in.
