Before you all start spamming up the comments about how this has been talked about before and has been dismissed please listen. I am fully aware that the structure of the game as it currently is would most likely make such a thing difficult. But think about how insanely fast the game would explode in popularity? This is something a friend and I pondered for a long time about if we could build each our own separate fortress on the same world-region and create an alliance or possibly wage war. The possibilities of a LAN based multiplayer are astounding. I'm not asking for a online multiplayer as that would be extremely hard to manage and i could understand the reasons behind not wanting to do that, in fact i would prefer that there was no online multiplayer. I think that it would stain part of the DF community. Anyway i think that this really deserves some attention.
