So wait... if I have a plant-only stockpile Giving to a Still, then they will never brew anything, because they will take ONLY from that stockpile, which contains no empty barrels?

That's how I understand it, yes.

If even a single stockpile is set to give to a workshop, that workshop will take only from the linked stockpiles. This includes barrels, bags, etc. Either delete the "give" order from the still's stockpile (so the brewer will fetch barrels from wherever he can find them) or add a separate furniture stockpile that accepts only barrels and pots and gives to the still (this is not equivalent to having max barrels > 0 when you inspect the stockpile with 'q').

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Strange Farming Behavior
« on: August 12, 2013, 06:41:30 pm »
One workaround is to set most stockpiles with barrels/bins to take from links only, and link it to an adjacent (barrel/bin free) stockpile with the same settings that takes from everywhere.

This should translate to a hauler collecting a bar, dropping it in stockpile A, then walking a very moderate distance of 5-10 spaces with the bin from stockpile B and back. This should also mitigate the problem of dwarves refusing to haul two bins from a single stockpile at once.

DF Modding / Dfhack: Run misery when save is loaded
« on: July 31, 2013, 11:02:49 pm »
I'd like to be able to run 'misery 2' every time I load a save. When I put this in dfhack.init, I get the error "misery can only be enabled in fortress mode with a fully-loaded game." Is there a way to have this run automatically every time?

This looks great, thanks.

One bug which gave me some trouble: when loading the ASCII default graphics, line 51 of init.txt is set to

[FONT:curses_square_16x16.png]

but it should be

[GRAPHICS_FONT:curses_square_16x16.png]

or when GRAPHICS:NO is set it will overwrite the real font choice made earlier in the file (this showed up when trying to revert to the curses_640x300 default of vanilla). And similarly on line 54.
