DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Why is my Queen murdering ?

So i have a queen that is murdering others and i can't figure out why.

I have seen this before with kings/queens but they where part of an evil civ residing in an evil fortress where murdering others is more common, they simply inherited their title or some sort.

But never have i seen a queen that's part of a good civ (my civ) residing in a good fortress murdering people.

I contemplated if she was a vampire but the legends show nothing like "the deity cursed Urist to prowl the night in search of blood" as that usually is a good indicator.
Could it be something else that i don't know about??

Do kings/queens make mandates in worldgen im assuming they don't ? but if they aren't met would that make them kill a dwarf if there is no hammerer? Just spinning thoughts.

Also i would be curious if she keeps murdering when she becomes monarch of my fort.

Maybe you guys have an idea

Hello good people,

I have always played dwarf fortress with a pop cap of 80 to get all the goodies but avoid fps death.

However i have hit a very nice legends with the very first king that roamed the earth still alive as a necromancer and another civ with a goblin king. As you can understand im itchy to get this goblin king as a new sacrifice ruler in my haunted glacier fort.
From what i understand getting a monarch is hardcoded and can only be achieved by having a minimum of 120 dwarfes (mountainhome)

I wanted to know if anyone knows another method even if it is trough dfhack or a mod. To get this king earlier and so avoid fps death.

Masterwork DF / Probably loyalty cascade but why?

Greetings Masterminds,

I just can't figure out how my fort got into the self destructive state it is in now. Everything seemed alright except for a baron that went stark raving mad ( I don't blaim him i do agree my manager had a better dining room ) and a vampire somewhere amongst my bearded alcoholics.

I also just had a siege of Hammerman ( I locked them up for now and killed 2 of them )

Soon after everything was cleared up, my dwarfs start killing each other when I look in the reports I see : a dwarf yells: Armok, I am sorry but I have to kill this bearded sod. and so on.

Before I know it my whole fortress is into a huge fist fight and well we all know where the FUN goes.

I am aware of what a loyalty cascade is and I am 100% sure I never attacked a caravan, I only bought animals/mounts from the elves/humans in a legit way. The only thing I can recall is I once had a monster visiting me which transformed into a dwarf when it started raining, but my military was not quick enough to kill it and it disapeared of the edge of my land. And it was about 2 years before this cascade began.

It would be great to know where this is coming from to prevent it in the future.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / A way to MAKE an aquifier?

Quite an odd question maybe, but I can only find posts how to turn aquifiers off, or how to dig trough them.

At the moment I have a map without aquifiers and I want to try the Water Cannon found in -> http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=126321.0 (dont know how to name it)

For this I either need a huge resevoir of water from a river, but draining it when shooting will kill my FPS. Or as found in the save file attach the pumps to an aquifier. The problem is, I can't get an aquifier since I made a map without them.

Does somone know if there is another option to "spawn" a quifier in a certain spot. Or to make one? (I tried throwing water in a pond damping the stone and then mining it but this didnt made it spill water)
So next I was thinking if there is a way to edit something in the text file or trough a utility (like DFhack, I tought this was possible for magma with this tool) to add an aquifier where I want it.

Any suggestions are welcome :)!
