DF Gameplay Questions / Getting Started With Dwarf Fortress (Help)

Hello every,
I got started into this genre of games from Gnomoria. It has been probably over a year since I played, but I must of put in 200-300 hours. Recently I discovered a dwarf fortress remote app, which really appealed to me. I really wanted to get to the point where i could actually play this on my phone comfortably. I have watched a few tutorial introductions, but I have some questions.
- I am sure it's located somewhere on this site or wiki, but what is the best stuff to download to get started. I have heard of a "lazy newb pack" that can actually make the game isometric even? This sounds absolutely amazing and the only reason I played Gnomoria was to be able to see the stuff I build.
-Any help on what exactly to get would be great! I'll use the wiki to assist me in actually learning the game as I feel I already have a jump on the game from watching many hours of videos and my experience with gnomoria.

PS: Has anyone actually purchased any of the books/ebooks on this game and have found them to be extremely helpful?

3 Stone Sense
4. A sound pack still in search of
5. Good Tile Set (I like the ironhand one I think)
